My tool bar on the left only works once and I'm unable to do anything else from the tool bar without logging out of QBO and signing back in. Makes getting any work done very difficult and horrifically slow. I'm desperate for help!

Yes, we suggest logging in to your account through different browsers. It allows you to access QuickBooks Online (QBO) with a fresh start which prevents unexpected behaviors from QBO.

Please refer to this article to find out what browser works best for you to have a better QBO experience: System requirements for QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Accountant.

In addition, you may see this article to know what tasks you can perform in the navigation menu: Understand the navigation menu in QuickBooks Online.

No worries, an issue like this can be easily fixed, @WiggaramaUK. I appreciate you for reaching out here for assistance.

Browser-related problems are the most common reason why users encounter unexpected or odd behaviors in QuickBooks. Please know that the online platform uses the browser’s cache to run faster. However, these can sometimes become corrupted, which affects QuickBooks Online functionalities.

You can perform some troubleshooting steps to get your toolbar to work as intended. First, open your QuickBooks Online account in a private or incognito window for testing. You can use these shortcuts keys below for quick navigation:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

Once logged in, check out each feature. If your tools work properly, get back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Doing this helps the program to run smoothly. You can also use other supported browsers as an alternative.

To help speed up and manage your task more efficiently, you can change your view and alter your home dashboard. See these resources below for complete details:

Thanks for all the information.  I went through all the steps but it didn't help.  It does work in Incognito, but still does not work in my regular browser.  Do I need to shut down the computer after I clear all my cache? I'm starting to bang my head against a wall.  And does it matter if I just working in Incognito Mode?

Thanks for the update, @WiggaramaUK

I'd be delighted to provide additional insights regarding this matter.

Yes, you can work with QuickBooks Online using the incognito window.

Also, you can go back to your regular browser and try clearing its cache since it works perfectly in incognito. You can also use another supported and up-to-date browser to narrow down the results.

Moreover, I'll be adding this helpful resource to help manage tasks in QBO: Getting Started With QuickBooks Online.

Apologies, I was not clear on my reply.  Once I worked in Incognito and everything operated normally, I cleared my Cache in my Google Chrome and QBO still does not function correctly.  I am operating on Windows 11 with the latest version of Google Chrome.

This problem started happening over a month ago but I went on holiday and didn't have time to figure it out.  I've changed all my Settings for Pop-ups and even specified that QBO is to allow pop-ups and redirects and it still doesn't work.

Are you suggesting I try working in QBO in different Browsers?

Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks for your help.  I'm having to use Microsoft Edge and not Google Chrome.  So far, ME is working seemlessly so it was definitely a Chrome issue.

Back at work,
