Buy nowI have several company files I maintain...and am attempting to create a new one. When i go through the setup, i get to the "create company tab" and working bar comes up and gets to 10%. Then a message comes up that says i need to download the latest file doctor...this update includes new fixes for many errors that can stop your company file from opening.
I download that, and run the "fix my program portions". Still having the same issue and unable to create a new company.
Which QB Desktop year version and Windows OS do you run?
QB Desktop Pro Plus 2022 and windows 10 pro
Another problem running QBD on Win 10 Pro 8(
Consider installing the trial version for QBD Enterprise to isolate the problem.
So you are saying I can't create a company on QBD while on Windows 10??? Surely not...right....

I would say, Win 10 Pro and Win 11 are prone to problems running a supported QBD version than Win 10 Home for the time being.
Did you ever resolve the issue? Running into the same problem. Quickbooks is garbage. Tried all the same things, stops at 10% trying to create a new company file then telling me to download the tool hub. Tried Quick Fix My Program of course that did NOT work. Then tried the QuickBooks Program Diagnostic Tool and still the same thing is happening when trying to create a new company file. Quickbooks has been getting worse and worse over the years unfortunately.
Thanks for joining the thread and sharing the steps you've performed to address the issue, @havrelm.3
I know how the ability to create or add a new company file impacts your business in QuickBooks. I'll share with you another step to finally fix the error message.
We can reinstall the program again to refresh the application. Doing this won't affect your data at all. Here's how:
Before you start
Then, follow these steps:
When you’re done, install QuickBooks Desktop. When you install it again, QuickBooks will automatically install new folders and rename your old ones.
If this doesn't fix your issue, move to Solution 2 from this article: Manually uninstall QuickBooks and rename installation folders
If you're still getting the same results, I'd suggest contacting our customer support and they’ll help you repair the file.
Please let me know the result of the troubleshooting steps. I want to make sure you'll be taken care of. Keep safe.
