Most issues in QuickBooks Online can be fixed by clearing the browser's cache. For further details I suggest to open the article below:

Thanks - but that was not the problem as I am aware of this - it also was affecting the windows PC version - so was not the cache.
QB was temporarily down - but is up and running now
All morning I've been getting the message:

I'd like to ensure that you'll be able to log into QuickBooks Online successfully and be able to use the program smoothly.
If you've already performed the steps presented by my colleagues above, I recommend taking these performance tests for QuickBooks Online both in Windows and in the browser. This help fix issues while running QBO:
However, if the problem continues after performing these procedures, I suggest contacting our Customer Care Team. They have the tools that can better isolate this matter and determine its root cause. They can also generate an investigation ticket if necessary.
