I've got the information you need about payment services.
In QuickBooks, there are several reasons why you're denied taking online payments. These are:
You can read through this reference for the acceptable use policy of the payment services: Intuit Payments Inc. Acceptable Use Policy.
However, if you need further clarification about restricted business types or activities, feel free to reach out to our Payments Support Team.
Alternatively, you can still utilize a third-party payment processor to integrate with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and accept and process online payments.
Also, I've attached this handy article to learn more about accepting online payments with QuickBooks Payments: Receive and process payments in QuickBooks Online with QuickBooks Payments.

Hi thank you for your response. Per your suggestion I followed up with the payments support team on Friday.
Our issue is that our subscription billing had expired because the automated payment was declined (our attached payment method had been cancelled due to fraudulent charges on it). So I updated the payment method and our account subscription was restored and paid up (Quickbooks online). After that, my employees are unable to use the new card readers we have. They continue to get an error message saying our subscription is expired. For some reason, the main account admin (me) is able to use the new card readers to accept payments in Quickbooks Gopayment app and our employees are not but they are able to accept them using an old card reader we had.
The Quickbooks rep I spoke to on the phone suggested that we have the employees remove and reload the app. That did not work though. They said that this is an issue that others are having as well, following a subscription renewal. I hope it gets worked out soon because being limited to one old card reader instead of the three we usually use is squeezing us.
