Updating Stock/product sale prices in bulk

Hi there, Jane. I'd be glad to share some information about how products and services work in QuickBooks Online and offer some steps so we can achieve your goal which is to bulk-edit the sales price of your products.

For now, we can only update a product's sales price in QuickBooks Online individually. However, you don't have to worry as we can bypass the process in two ways. First is to export your products, updating the price outside QuickBooks then importing it back. I've included the process for you:

  1. From the Gear icon, choose Products and Services.
  2. Set the filter in the Filter icon, and choose Apply.
  3. Click on the Export icon.

Next, revise the cost of each item and store the file on your computer. Once completed, you can proceed to import the data.

  1. Click on the Gear icon and select Import Data.
  2. Select Products and Services.
  3. On the Import products and services page, select Browse.

  4. Choose the file then select Open.
  5. Select Next and map your fields to QuickBooks fields.
  6. Click on Next and ensure to check the Overwrite all values for each product or service that you import with the identical name. (This can’t be undone.) box.
  7. Select Import.

Another option is to make use of the price rules functionality, which allows you to specify a percentage (either decrease or increase) for any or all of your products and services. However, it is important to keep in mind that applying a price rule will not update the sales price of your products on the Products and Services page unless you create a transaction. For more information about this, feel free to check out this article: Set price rules in QuickBooks Online.

Should you have additional questions about managing your products and services in QuickBooks Online, please don't hesitate to reply to this post. I'll be willing to lend a hand. Have a wonderful day.
