In QuickBooks Desktop, the "Apply payments to this 1099 box" column should normally display its header text. Since the column itself is visible but the header is blank and not allowing you to choose the correct box, this points to a display/rendering issue within the 1099 wizard.
This can happen after updates when the 1099 components don't fully refresh. To resolve this issue, let's try some basic troubleshooting steps.
Let's first start by resetting the updates:
- Go to the Help menu. Click on Update QuickBooks Desktop.
- Select Reset Updates, then tap on Get Updates.
- Close QuickBooks once the update has installed.
- Restart your computer.
- Now we can return to Vendors>1099 Forms>Map Vendor Payments Accounts.
If the issue persist after that, running the Quick Fix My Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub should get things back in order.
