Using Quickbooks Community

Hello, I had two questions that I posted a week a ago with no response. Can anyone suggest the best place to bring up questions/discussions, be involved with others possibly, who are new ProAdvisors that are building their practice and have issues to share? Thank you, jbooze1

Hey there, @jbooze1 . I'd be happy to get you pointed in the right direction.

My advice is to try and find the category that is the best fit for your question. Some users only look at specific boards and may not see a post if it's in a different area. For an overview of these areas, I recommend the following post by @MichaelDL : Getting Started in QB Community.

There's been a bit of a delay between your post and my response due to the holidays. It looks likes one of the questions has received multiple replies. The other one looks like it may have been posted in another area and moved. This time in the other section could explain the lack of responses. Since you didn't receive an answer to the one question, I suggest reposting it in the Reports and accounting section.

Also, I wanted to take a moment to congratulate you on becoming a ProAdvisor and starting your firm! There are a host of ProAdvisors in the Community, with many different sizes of firms. Recently, @Easton at J E Cole Bookkeeping, who just launched his own firm, posted a thread in Talk about your business about Community Networking that you may want to check out. This section of the Community has some unique insights and discussions on operating a business.

Please know that I'm only a few clicks away if you ever need assistance. Looking forward to seeing your posts discussions!

Hi @jbooze1 and welcome to the QB Community!

First of all, congratulations on starting your firm! It's an exciting adventure and will constantly surprise you with "learning experiences" to put it nicely. :)

As far as specific issues with QB Software, this forum is a great resource to find answers. Many users take a few minutes every day to try to answer questions since it helps others and you'll find it is a great way to sharpen your skills as well.

When connecting with other accountants and bookkeepers who run their own practice I would recommend connecting with FB groups. I love the QB Community and hope that it will become more friendly to networking discussions but as it stands right now it's not the best avenue for it.. Once it is I'll be the first one in line to get involved with the other users here because there is some great advice, just have to do some digging to find it. I posted a topic here that I think will help answer a lot of questions you may have. https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/talk-about-your-business/community-networking/01/4...

Once again, good luck on your journey! If you ever have any questions just tag me and I'll be happy to help you. @David-212915 is a fantastic help on here as well and is usually the first person to come to my aid when I run into issues.

Hi DavidSC,

I will take note and apply the suggestions you made above when using the QB community. I had one other question that, if you have time, I would like to ask. Do you have any suggestion, or possibly a link to a page, that may show tips for finding questions to answer in the QB Community? I was just thinking of trying to give back, if possible.

Thank you,

jbooze1
