W-9 as a contractor

So I'm a contractor foreign to US and my client has requested me to fill out W-9. But the first inquiry upon sign in is "How do you file your taxes?" with only SSN or EIN as options. I file mine with a TIN. Is it okay that I choose the SSN option?

W-9 as a contractor

Good day, @Melfie,

Allow me to share more details about setting up the W-9 information if you don't have a Social Security Number (SSN).

Yes, you can Tax Identification Number or TIN when filling out the W-9 form. However, if you get an invalid number error, try replacing it with all zeros following the same number format.

I'm adding an article about 1099 set up in QuickBooks Self-Employed: 1099s in QuickBooks Self-Employed

Please update me on the outcome by clicking the Reply button below or if you have other questions. I'm always here to lend a hand.
