We can perform some troubleshooting to see if this is a browser-related issue, @accounts340.
I'd like to start by opening a private or incognito window in your web browser. This will open your account in a clean slate and loads fresh data. Here's how:
Once you're in the private or incognito window, sign in to your QuickBooks Online account and try to import your invoices once again. If it works smoothly and recognizes your product codes, then you can go back to your original browser and clear the cache. Alternatively, you can use other compatible browsers.
Furthermore, here's a Community article that you may find useful: Import multiple invoices at once.
Let me know how this goes for you! If the issue persists or you'd like further assistance, please don't hesitate and reach back out to me. Have a great rest of your day.
I tried to do this in a private browser but encountered the same issue, do you have any other suggestions?
I've got the suggestions you need to successfully bring in the product codes when importing an invoice to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @accounts3401.
I appreciate you for performing the initial steps provided by my peer above. The invoice template may not be mapped correctly. That's why the system didn't recognize the product information when importing it.
To help fix this, let's make sure you map each of your column headings to the invoice fields. Then, verify them so they'll match with QuickBooks fields. View the screenshot below for your reference. For more details, see this article's Step 4: Importing Multiple Invoices At Once.
The second option is utilizing our QBO EZ Map Fields Catalog to get the product codes and other info imported to the program. Just make sure to map your template fields so they'll match correctly with the QBO's side. To learn more about this process, visit this article: Import Custom Form Styles For Invoices Or Estimates. This link also contains answers to commonly asked questions about importing custom form styles.
Once imported, you can now create invoices and send them to your customers. You'll also want to customize them to personalize your business' brand.
Lastly, can I ask if you're getting any errors when importing the invoice template to QBO? It helps me provide further resolution to make sure I've got your back.
I'll be right here to help if you need anything else. Keep safe always, @accounts3401.
The mapping is all ok, i'm using a template I have used successfully many times before and have not made any changes. I have also tried to import a file from last month which worked and now QB no longer recognises the codes in that file either.
I know my computer recently updated microsoft office so not sure if that is having an impact.
Thanks for the response, @accounts3401.
Have you tried creating new files or templates to import for the invoices? You can try creating a new template and if the issue persists, then I recommend reaching out to the Microsoft Support for further assistance. They'll be able to see if something went wrong with the update or see if the file has been outdated. Please keep us updated here in this thread. Have a safe weekend ahead!
I am also having a problem importing Invoices. I have formatted my CSV file the same as the sample.csv with the exception of adding * to the column headings. I have used this format previously with no issues. However, now it will not accept any of my Item codes. I have tried uploading in and Incognito Window, with the same result It does not recognise my Item codes. Also in the accountant tools I am unable to reclassify these Invoices to the appropriate accounts. Below is the message I get while trying to Reclassify the transactions.
