Why don't I have a reconcile undo option

The only fix I came up with was to go to each individual transaction in the ledger for that checking account and change the R to a blank space. It took FOREVER to do this. If the Desktop version includes an "Unreconcile" button, obviously someone knows the code to include into the QBO version. C'mon people! It's 2025!

Why don't I have a reconcile undo option

Had the same issue; found this guy on https://youtu.be/G1HgijRQv00?feature=shared youtube and this worked.  I haven't watched this is a while, but he basically explains how you can create another account using a different email, then invite that email address to be an "accountant".  Once you are in "accountant mode" you have an undo reconciliation button, just like we had for 20 years in the desktop version. This solution worked for me.  With that said, I hate this online version and am considering on trying to switch to Patriot, but haven't tried it yet, as the thought of switch scares me almost as much as the thought of continuing to use this QBO.  If anyone has any experience with Patriot, please comment.

In case the link I posted above gets zapped when I post this, the guys name on youtube is Hector Garcia CPA.

Why don't I have a reconcile undo option

Isn't it just gaslighting when someone makes a complaint and then you respond by repeating the same answer?

The fact is that this is a stupid marketing gimmick and it cheapens your product significantly.

Grow up and give us full access instead of trying to make a pyramid scheme out of your product. This totally screws over small business owners that are their own accountants.

Why I can’t have undo reconciliation?

Why don't I have a reconcile undo option

Good day, Dorina.

In QuickBooks Online, the Undo option is only available in the Advanced and QuickBooks Online Accountant versions. If you are using the Advanced version, only the Primary Admin can access this button.

Since you don't have this option, you can manually unreconcile the transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Here’s how:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the top corner of the screen.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Locate and select the relevant account, then click View Register.
  4. Identify the transactions you’d like to unreconcile.
  5. Change the R status to either blank or cleared (C) by clicking on it repeatedly.
  6. Click Save, and confirm the change by selecting Yes.

It's a good idea to talk to your accountant before making any changes. This will help keep your records accurate and ensure the changes align with your financial processes.

Before we finish, I suggest you explore QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted to streamline your accounting, maintain precise financial records, and access professional support. This could free up valuable time, allowing you to concentrate on expanding your business.

We’re here to assist further and ensure everything works smoothly for you.

Why don't I have a reconcile undo option

For the love of god, stop gating basic features that have existed in QuickBooks Desktop for decades. You pushed everyone to move to QBO and then removed core functionality. Undoing a reconciliation is not some advanced accountant-only power feature, it’s basic bookkeeping. Who is Intuit to decide users aren’t “qualified” to manage their own books? This is hostile to small business owners and it makes the product worse, not better.
