GoPayment Contactless Chip and Swipe 9EC5 Reader Suddenly Fails

I'm hoping someone can help with a chip reader that's suddenly gone all wrong.

Our business uses GoPayment app on Samsung tablet in conjunction with a Contactless Chip and Swipe 9EC5 Reader to take about 30 to 40 credit card payments.  Each day.  7 days a week.  For the past 4 years or so.

Suddenly yesterday morning the chip reader began to have serious issues.  Still charging, and still connecting via bluetooth to the tablet.  But each transaction we tried, across multiple individuals and cards, all started to come up rejected -- showing a 'Card Expired or Insufficient funds' result after signature.

I spent hours on phone with Intuit support yesterday to no avail.  Their only option in the end was to pay $80 for a rush order of a new reader.

I'm hoping someone here can help me to get the 9EC5 back to its normal performance.  Thanks!

GoPayment Contactless Chip and Swipe 9EC5 Reader Suddenly Fails

Hi there, @ThatsNoMoon.

Let me help you troubleshoot the error with your 9EC5 Reader and get back to your business.

I understand you are to purchase a new reader and continue processing payments. Before doing so, I recommend uninstalling your device from your computer. Then, reinstall it.

Once done, try to process a new payment.

Definitely tried that. Also tried it with multiple other devices some of which were gopayment reinstalls and some of which were fresh installs where the device had never seen the application before. Some tablets and some phones. All the same unwanted result.
