I turned on both Class and Location and a field called "Crew#" popped up as well. Can someone explain how this is to be used?  Thanks

How is the "Crew#" field used in Customer Invoices?

Hi there, Mrjan.

Thanks for joining us here in the Community. I'm here to answer your concern about the Crew number field showing on your QuickBooks Online account.

The details that'll show in your invoices would depend on the fields you've enabled from the Accounts and Settings or Custom Template pages. If the tracking of classes and locations are turned on, they should only be the ones you'll see in the transaction.

Let's double-checked if there are extra fields added to the sales forms. If there are any, you'll want to remove its check mark.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Accounts and Settings
  2. Choose Sales from the left panel and click the Sales form content pencil icon.
  3. Under Custom fields, look for the Crew # name.
  4. If there's one, remove its check mark.
  5. Click Save, then Done

Check out this blog for more details about Classes and Locations:

Using Classes and Locations in QuickBooks Online

By doing these steps, you should be able to locate the Crew # field and remove it from your invoices.

Be sure to touch base with me here on the results of your testing, I want to ensure this matter gets resolved. Have a great week!

Hello again, Mrjan :)

I appreciate your response on this. I'm glad the steps I've provided was able to help you with the concern.

Yes! You can run reports for the class and location fields. This way you'll be able to track the transactions created for each of them and how the affect your finances.

To look for one:

  1. Go to Reports in the left navigation panel.
  2. In the Standard tab, enter class or location in the Search field.
  3. Click the specific report you need (see screenshot).

You can also customize the reports to show the information on the other fields. Check out this article for more details:

How to customize reports

These additional steps and article can help and guide you through creating and running reports.

Don't hesitate to let me know if you have other questions in mind. Have a great day!
