How long does it take for a payment to clear if made after hours

I got a payment from a client last night around 10:30pm. This morning at 7:30am, it hasn't cleared yet. I know Green Dot is not based in America but halfway across the world in Pakistan, India, or Bangledesh. So why does it take so long if its 10:30pm here but 11am over there, for example

How long does it take for a payment to clear if made after hours

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your concern with us, Arsone4179. Payment processing times can vary depending on the type of transaction and the product being used, which follows U.S. banking hours. I’ll explain more below.

Standard deposits are processed daily, except on Sundays, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Instant Deposits, on the other hand, are processed every day without exception.

It's also worth noting that your first set of payments will get into your account within five (5) business days, as we're setting up your account. Subsequent transactions will then be deposited within two (2) business days, specifically when processed before 3 PM PT. For those made after 3 PM PT, the deposit will start on the next business day.

You can review your current deposit speed directly in QuickBooks Online or in the Merchant Service Center. For QBO, proceed to the Gear icon and choose Accounts and settings. Click the Payments tab, then see the Deposit Speed section.

To check the status of your funds, here's how:

  1. Log in to the Merchant Service Center.
  2. Click the Activity & Reports tab and then the Transactions or Deposit tab.
  3. Locate the transaction and review its corresponding information.

If there's an issue, you'll see Withheld or Batch Deposit Returned in the Status column. As you'll also receive an email containing instructions for the next step, make sure to check your Inbox or spam/junk folder.

With the details above, you should be able to see when customer payments are cleared in your bank account. If you have other questions, feel free to reply below. We're always around to assist you. Have a great day!
