Is there a cost to the contractor to receive their payments via direct deposit?
Yes, @Dseeman, there is.
You'll be charged a fee each month for contractors with direct deposit turned on, even if you don't pay them during the month. The fee may vary depending on the specific plan you have with QuickBooks Online.Check out this article for more information: Pay a contractor with direct deposit.
If you want to turn off the direct deposit to ensure you will not be charged a fee during the month., go to the Turn-off or change your contractor’s direct deposit section of this article for details: Set up and manage direct deposit for your contractors.
Furthermore, you may check out this article to learn how to pay your contractors using checks instead to avoid monthly fees: Pay a contractor with a paper check.
