It's not clear to me that QB/Melio will allow me to do what I used to do with my bank's billpay.
For a customer who has a credit/refund that I wanted to get money to, previously I would send a billpay check to customer through the bank billpay system.
Then in Quickbooks, I would:
Now I'm trying to do this with QB/Melio Billpay. But there is no option "New billpay check", only "New Bill", "New Expense".
If I have to use a bill or expense to get money to a customer through billpay, how do I proceed?
Afaik, the Melio Billpay doesn't offer such feature. If you are a B2B company, you may consider to open a separate Melio account to have a feature to accept and refund payments for your customers.

Hi there, @hess8. Let me address your concern about paying a customer through Melio Billpay.
As stated by Fiat Lux - ASIA above, we partner with Melio using the Billpay feature only. You'll want to utilize QuickBooks Payments instead. It will let you accept credit card, debit, and ACH bank transfers for invoices you send and sales you make. For more information about the process, please refer to this article: Take and process payments with QuickBooks Payments.
Another option you can consider is to look for a third-party app at our QuickBooks Apps Center that has the feature you need. You can go to the Categories section to filter the results.
You can also follow the steps below to search for the app:

The distinction between customer and vendor is within Quickbooks. I can get a Melio check/ACH to anyone within QB by calling them a vendor and create a bill, so why not to a customer without a bill? So it doesn't seem as simple as saying Melio doesn't offer "this". Why doesn't QB route it similar to how I pay a vendor?
