How to use a different bank from QuickBooks checking to receive payments

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, greathands2020.

You can change your bank account for QuickBooks Payments deposits any time from the Account and settings screen in QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks mobile app, QuickBooks Money, or GoPayment in a web browser.
  2. Use your Gear icon, then go to Account and settings.
  3. Access the Payments tab.
  4. In your Deposits section, next to Standard Deposits, click Change bank.
  5. Hit Add new bank account.
  6. Enter the account and routing number and press Save.
  7. Find your new bank account from the list and select Verify.
  8. Enter your two small amounts Intuit's deposited to the new account.
  9. Review your bank account details and complete the request.

If you're using QuickBooks Desktop, your steps for updating the direct deposit account will be a bit different. You can review our Change the deposit bank account article for detailed steps on the process.

In the event you want to close your QuickBooks Checking account, refer to the How do I close my QuickBooks Checking account section of our QuickBooks Checking FAQ article.
