Nice to have you here in the Community, @leif2.

Allow me to provide you with some more information about receiving online payments.

With QuickBooks Online Payments, you pay a rate per ACH bank transfer, and this also includes card swipes. The rates are as follows:

  • Bank transfer 1% (max $10)
  •  Card – Swiped - 2.4% + 25¢
  •  Card – Invoiced - 2.4% + 25¢
  •  Card – Keyed - 3.4% + 25¢

If you want to verify the charges, you can contact our Payments Support team. They'll be able to access your account and go over any charges you want to discuss. You can also check out our Payments page for more information on our rates per transaction.

Please don't hesitate to touch base with me here if you need any additional assistance. I look forward to hearing from you again.

Is the notification of fees in the Terms and Conditions when I set up online payments?  I don't remember seeing it, but there is usually a lot of legalese that I may not have read through completely.  Also, the fee rates you listed still don't account for the amount of the fee.  The payment I received through bank transfer was 42.30, which is more than the 1%(with a $10) maximum you have quoted.  The fee charged is closer to 3%, and my bank lists the payment as an ACH bank transfer, so that indicates it wasn't a credit card transaction, right?  What am I missing here?  I'm on hold with payment support, so I'll see if I can get an explanation there, but would appreciate your response if you have further information.

Yes, it's in the Intuit Payment Merchant Agreement, leif2.

As mentioned above, you'll be charged per ACH bank transfer and card swipes. Generally, all rates and fees are in U.S. dollars and subject to change. There are times where you may become subject to any increase in rates or fees.

Please know that we provide you advance notice by posting updated pricing or terms on our website or sending you email communication. The price changes are effective on the date indicated on our notice or posted terms.

You can visit the section 7 of our Terms and Conditions to know more about this topic.

Due to security purposes, we're unable to pull your account here. I'd still recommend waiting for our Customer Care representative to verify the charge for you.

In case you'll want to find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments, you can check the deposit speed for your product.

I'll be right here to keep helping you have any other concerns or further questions about how QuickBooks Payments. Stay safe and healthy.

Hey lief2,

I'm no expert, but through much frustration, I tend to find help on my own after many hours of searching.  So perhaps this might help, or not, perhaps you've already figured it out....

Not knowing what bank you use, but ours does not differentiate between ACH and CC deposits that are done through QBs.  Only that a deposit was made through QBs, which is the case if you set up your invoices to be paid through QBs.  So, assuming that's the case, and the "B2B ACH" was done through QBs, I would recommend checking the data to know if it was a CC or ACH payment.

Here's what I discovered, and only after going through a myriad of clicks.  We use QBO.

--I went to settings (cog), clicked on Accounts and Settings,

--clicked on Payments, then under Merchant Details, clicked on Manage Account.  This will bring up all kinds of information.

--Click on Deposits, then input the dates you want to review, then all the deposits done through QBs will list out.  Any bank counter deposits will not be recorded here, as this is for QB purposes.

--On the far right of the chart, click on Fees, this will tell you how each deposit was made, CC or ACH.  It will only give you the information regarding payments made through QBs.  I discovered that all the payments with CCs were charged 3%, or thereabouts.

When we receive deposits through QBs, the banking section does not designate what method of payment was used, CC or ACH.  But if there is a "transaction fee" charged, it is most likely due to the customer using a CC.

It's an expensive option for our business to offer CC payments, but often necessary if we want to do business.

Hope this helps to alleviate some of your frustration.  I know it did for me.
