My recurring transactions are neither entering themselves or updating to the next month when I manually "use" them.

What am I doing wrong?

Hello, laedmison.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue. It's possible that the browser stores frequently accessed data, thus causing websites, like QuickBooks, to act weirdly. Let's try logging into your QuickBooks account using the private browser.

You can access this by pressing the following commands:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox or Internet Explorer).
  • Control + Option + P (Safari).

If it works, then let’s go back to your browser and clear the cache. These caches of data are essentially junk files and can be safely deleted to free up storage space.

If the same problem occurs, try using a different browser. This can be an issue with the browser that you use and QuickBooks.

You can also read the material listed below to ensure that your transaction is in the right set up:

I already did this troubleshooting technique - it did not work

I cleared all cache & cookies

I shutdown restarted my computer

I hadn't tried the different browser approach before, but just did, and that didn't work either...

Hello, laedmison.

I appreciate you for following the troubleshooting steps that I provided above. Let's go ahead and do other troubleshooting steps to help resolve this. I suggest checking the setup of your recurring transaction to ensure it's properly set up.

Here's how:

  1. In QBO, go to the Gear icon and click the Recurring Transactions
  2. Click the Edit under the Action column.
  3. Modify the information needed.
  4. Press Save template once done.

If the same thing happens, you'll want to recreate new template and make sure to set the correct type. To learn more about managing recurring transactions, consider checking out these articles:
