New Invoice Format

The old invoice format had spaces for shipping information (date, tracking, etc) however on the new invoice format, I can't figure out how to add that information back to the invoice which is important for our customers to see. I've figured out a temporary workaround by adding this information to custom box saying shipment which doesn't look as professional as before. Has anyone figured out how to get that information back on the invoices?

New Invoice Format

Welcome to the Community space, @laurenincinci.

I am here to share some insights about the missing shipping information in the new invoice layout in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Currently, with the new update of QBO, shipping information is unavailable. I agree with your workaround to use the custom fields to add shipping information in the new invoice layout.

With that, I recommend sending feedback to our product developers. This will give us an idea of how we may improve the functionality of QBO to meet user's needs and enhance the working experience.

Here's how:

  1. Select the Help option.
  2. Select the Send Feedback Online option.
  3. Select the Product Suggestion option. A pop-up window displays.
  4. Enter your comments or feedback suggestions.
  5. Click the Send Feedback button.

Moreover, you can visit this article for detailed information about the new update of QuickBooks Online: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Lastly, I'm adding this helpful article as your guide in creating a personalized and professional-looking invoices, estimates, and sales receipts: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

I have the exact same problem and the Shipping fields are critical. QBO is giving me the same canned answers.

New Invoice Format

I noticed a problem with the new invoice format.  When I COPY an invoice it is not copying over the email address of the customer.  This forces me to go back to old invoices and find the correct AP email for the customer.  Can someone please fix this bug?

Thanks,

Thank you for joining us here, @cgk114. Let's work together to fix the issue of the customer's email address not being included automatically in the invoice copy.

One possible reason why the email addresses aren't automatically brought over to the copied invoice is because of the local internet cache and cookies stored in our browser. If you haven't tried it, I suggest making a copy or duplicating your invoice through a private/incognito window. The private window will not save any history, making it an excellent place to identify browser problems. Here are the shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once you're in incognito mode, make a copy of your invoice and see if it brings up the customer's email address.

If everything's good, return to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing the cache or cookies is the best way to get a clean slate for your browser. Otherwise, using other supported browsers can be a good alternative too.

Furthermore, you can read this article to learn how to personalize and add specific information to your invoice and other form styles in the program: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Keep me posted if you need anything else besides making a copy of your invoice. I'm always around here in the Community forum to help. Stay safe!
