I use qbo to invoice my customers on a weekly basis. Customer make payments using their bank accounts. However, quickbooks allows customers to cancel the payments weeks and sometimes months after they have paid and the money was deposited into my account. I received a payment from customer on August 12, 2024. The service was delivered to the custome. Money was deposited into my account. On January 21, 2025, quickbooks told me that there was a problem with the customer bank account and the payment has been cancelled!!!!. How is that possible?
I'm here to provide some clarity and assistance regarding your situation regarding the cancellation of payment long after you've delivered the service and the funds have been deposited, alam555.
There are several reasons why a payment can be returned. If you receive a notification about a returned payment, it usually includes a return code, which can help identify the issue. However, if you did not receive a return code or need further clarification, I recommend contacting our live support team. I agree that this is an extremely sensitive issue.
First off, your response did not answer my question.
The basic issue remains:
1. I send the invoice to customer via quickbooks.
2. Customer pays the invoice via their bank account.
3. I provide the service to the customer.
4. Three months later quickbooks notifies me that "there is a problem with the customer bank account". The payment is disputed.
5. Quickbooks takes the money back from my account without any inquiry? investigation? etc.
6. Meanwhile, quickbooks charges me for collecting the payment. This charge is never refunded. So quickbooks still makes money.
DOES THIS SEEM REASONABLE? ETHICAL? RIGHT? to you?
Do you think that a small business can survive this way?
Please help me understand this?
