Hello, I do estimates and always charge 50% first. System will let me do the 50%, however the balance of the 50% is never shown on A/R and I cannot invoice the balance since is not recognized. I need to do a new invoice for the reminder.
Any comments?

Hi there, @websoftpr.
Thank you for seeking help with your invoices and estimates in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'm here to give you additional insights into these.
An estimate is a non-posting transaction. Thus, you need to add it into an invoice so the amount will post to your accounts receivable. When converting it into an invoice, you can set how much do you want to invoice. You can either enter a custom amount for each line or set a certain percentage.
If you need to convert the full amount of your estimate, then enter 100% on the box provided.
But if the initial conversion is set to 50%, then you can add the remaining amount by creating another invoice.
Here's how:
When opening your report, the invoice amounts will now reflect under the Accounts Receivable (A/R).

Hi there, when I convert the estimate to an invoice using these steps, I don't have a box that shows up asking how much I would like to invoice. What am I missing?
Let me help you get the same option when creating invoices, trista_scott.
You need to turn on the Progress invoicing feature to get the prompt asking if how much you want to invoice from the estimate. Here's how:
Once done, you should receive a prompt if you want to a percentage of the estimate when converting an estimate to an invoice.
Let me share this article as a guide: Set Up and Send Progress Invoices in QuickBooks Online.
You can also edit your invoice template and add an estimate summary. Here's an article as a guide in case you want to do it: Add Project Estimate Summaries to a Progress Invoice.
Feel free to come back to this thread or post another question if you need anything else. We'd be happy to help you again.
