Did you test your answer? It does not work.

There is no confirmation of the receipt of submitted product suggestion and there is never any follow-up. Why should we waste our time?

Has there been any progress made? We do not have time to submit suggestions that have no follow up, submitting suggestions to QB is the most frustrating experience in itself. Have you ever tried using the Submit Suggestion feature? Do you notice that it lacks confirmation and follow up? Why should we waste our time if it might just have gone down a black hole and nobody will look at it?

Exactly, this is unacceptable. Additionally, there is a way to reveal the whole credit card number which is yet another terrible and unaddressed #securityissue

I understand that it's necessary to safeguard your customers' bank accounts for security reasons, @Vichka. I'm here to give you some updates on the feedback that has been submitted to us.

You will receive a confirmation when you send feedback in QuickBooks Online indicating that it's sent successfully. It appears as follows:

The ability to remove the customer's credit card number from QBO is still unavailable. As an alternative, you can either exchange out its number for a non-transactional card or combine it with a customer account that has no credit card information. Learn how to delete your customers' credit card information from QuickBooks Payments with this step-by-step instruction.

In addition, the implementation of the suggestions will rely on how many users made them. To read latest announcements, visit our website, or contact our Customer Care Support for any specific updates.

If everything is in order and you want to bill your clients, follow these instructions: Create invoices in QuickBooks Online.

If you need additional assistance with this or with QuickBooks, keep us posted so we can help you right away. Keep yourself safe always.

@Mich_S
1. Instructions at Learn how to delete your customers' credit card information from QuickBooks Payments Do Not Work, as many in this and related threads have mentioned. Please stop suggesting options you guys have not tested yourself, it is tiring and disrespectful of our time.
2. Submitting a suggestion without any receipt confirmation or confirmation email that the suggestion has been received and entered for review, feels pointless, disappointing, and disempowering, so no, I'll not be submitting any suggestions as your platform certainly is designed in the way that discourages using this feature....

The inactive card number does work. It just keeps kicking it back as incorrect. It's unbelieveable there's no way to delete a card on file.

We've been telling/asking them for years. Workarounds are stupid. Let us delete the credit cards on file!! It's probably not that hard.

Dear HEAVEN HELP US. Quickbooks, just give the OPTION on the ACCOUNT page EDIT to DELETE the CREDIT CARD ON FILE for a customer! One and done.

Using the non-transactional credit card does not work. Your system does not allow for any non-transaction numbers or test numbers available to be saved. We've tried the number suggested by you AND all other numbers such as from this link [Removed]

QB system simply rejects them. So instead of asking us to use a method that does not work or a round about method of creating another account and merging, why not simply create a REMOVE button so we can all safely remove the credit card account so we all adhere to privacy laws?

Please listen to your paying customers and make this user friendly AND reduce liability.

It should be illegal for QBO not to have an option to just delete the card information.  If a customer want's their card deleted then give us an easy way to just delete it.  If you don't have computer programers that can do this type of programing maybe you need to find someone that can. There are so many things that I dislike about QBO vs desktop.

I agree that QB should provide an easy way to delete a customer's credit card, but I found a different workaround that worked for me.  I use the QB GoPayments app on my phone (which is signed into my QBO account).  It is possible to delete a card from there.  Open the customer profile view in the app, click the stored card, then three-dots, Delete Card.  Refresh QBO on your computer's browser and the stored card is gone.

Hope this helps someone else out there!

Finally!! A recommendation that works! Thank you @lakethegreat ... deleting customer card on file through the QB GoPayments app worked!

QB/Intuit Dev Team: Why is this option not already added to QBO? Logical and necessary feature!!

Thank you!!!

After going around in circles with QBO, your solution worked perfectly! Why this can't be incorporated into QBO is beyond belief.

When you do not have a phone to use apps on, is there a way to enter those apps on a desk top computer?  I am having same problem.  There should be an user friendly way to delete customer credit card information.  One would think due to privacy policy that QuickBooks would need to offer this avenue.

Hello there, @BBBJoJo. I'm here to provide you with more information to assist you in accomplishing your task within QuickBooks.

Certainly, you have the option to download the GoPayment app onto your computer. You can install a mobile app emulator on your PC and launch the app through that software. To get started, simply search for an emulator online or explore various free video-sharing platforms that offer guidance on this process.

I completely understand the convenience of having a delete option for customer credit card information. Please know that we highly value our customer's requests and ideas, which play a significant role in our feature development priorities.

That being said, I suggest sharing your feedback with our Product Development Team to contribute to enhancing your QuickBooks experience.  When you're ready, here's how to do it:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon at the top, then select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  4. Click Next to complete the process.

While we evaluate this opportunity, I recommend periodically visiting our blog to stay up-to-date with our latest news and product updates. Additionally, here's an informative article you can read to assist you in managing your customers' profiles: Edit customer information.

I'm always available here to lend a hand with your other pending tasks. Feel free to reach out for assistance. I'm just a message away.

Deleting a customer credit card

I've been part of this convo for a while now and it's so ILLOGICAL that QB cannot/will not right a simple line of code that allows for a delete. In this day and age of data protection it seems that a company that stores credit card data would be willing to delete that information upon user or customer request. It's not good and QB should do better. Now they're telling us to leave a message to a different department. Why not just send this thread to that department?

Why are we always fighting here on the message boards with a company that is ALWAYS begging for feedback elsewhere?

Let's start putting this as feedback ANYWHERE it is asked - copy and paste this:
WE MUST BE ALLOWED TO DELETE CUSTOMER CREDIT CARD INFORMATION

Maybe if band together we can get it done!!

Hello AaronEME,

Having a button to delete the customer's credit card information is a huge help to minimize the work. While this option is unavailable in QuickBooks Online, I suggest you send feedback to our developer's team.

You can do so by clicking the Gear icon. Then, under PROFILE, select Feedback. Enter a few words to describe your suggestion.

With that, we'll collate ideas from other customers about the efficiency of this feature.

Furthermore, you can check these articles whenever you have concerns about recording customer payments:

Please stop asking us to submit feedback on this issue. This thread is 5 years in and if no one in your product team understands payments and how businesses work to know this is critical, then I'm not sure this product has much of a future. It's such a small feature to add and an obvious hole in your payment processing features in Quickbooks.

Please just get this done.

Totally agree, I had to download the GoPayment app in my phone in order to be able to delete a credit card information from a customer, such a tedious process.
