For now, adding your own payment link to the invoice isn't an option. You can search and use a third-party application instead. Search one from the Apps menu, then go to the Find apps.

How do I change a category my payment in link is going to? I don’t see the option to choose ? And I can’t seem to be able to change the category on payments that were made through links?

After the customer pays the payment link how do I add it to an existing invoice? or is there an option to request only a portion of the invoice and not the total invoice.

After your customer clicks the link, they will input their payment details as though they are paying an invoice. Once the payment is made, you will receive a confirmation email as well as a copy of the payment link sent to your email.
It will automatically link to an invoice from the customer. In the event of a partial payment, it will be linked to the oldest open invoice.
Lastly, after your customer submits a payment for the invoice, QuickBooks will handle the payment processing and categorization.
