I cannot seem to get the "ship to" and "bill to" to say different companies

we are a contractor who works with property managers, in this situation the bill goes to the property manager but the "ship to" should NOT say the property manager's name - it should say the building name and address.

How do I stop the "bill to" name from auto-filing into my "ship to"?

You can edit the ship to address of the property manager, MCI.

The shipping address will be auto-filled if the Same as billing address box is checked in the customer's profile. This is why you'll see the same address when creating the transactions.

To correct this, you can go back to the property manager's profile and change the shipping address to the building's name and address.

Here's how:

  1. Click Sales on the left panel, and then select Customers.
  2. Click the property manager's name.
  3. Click the Edit button in the upper right-hand corner.
  4. In the Address tab, uncheck the Same as billing address box.
  5. Change the shipping address to the building's address.
  6. Click Save.

That's it. When you create the transactions next time, you'll see the correct bill to and ship to addresses.

I'll be around if you need anything else.

I cannot seem to get the "ship to" and "bill to" to say different companies

I have unchecked the "same as billing address"  but I'm still not quite getting the results I desire.

The only thing I need changed is the company I am billing to not show up in the "ship to" (only in the bill to)

Hello there, MCI.

I appreciate your efforts in trying to update the Ship to and Bill to address of your customer. I'm here to ensure the correct address will show in the Ship to field.

I've looked into this further, and didn't find any reported issues related to yours. Let's perform the browser troubleshooting steps to get you back on track.

To begin, open your account in a private browser or Chrome's incognito window. This will determine if the error is browser related.

Here's how to open a private window:

•    For Internet Explorer or Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
•    For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
•    For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If this works well, you'll need to clear your browser's cache. This will help the application to run better on your computer.

If none of these suggestions work, I recommend you get in touch with ourQuickBooks Online Support Team. They have the tools to configure your customer's setup and make sure the correct Ship to address shows up when creating transactions.

If you have additional questins about working in QBO, please know that I'm just a click away. Have a great rest of your day.

I have opened in chrome in an incognito tab, but my problem persists. The company I am billing is still showing up in my "ship to"  even though I have unchecked the "same as bill to"

Welcome aboard to the QuickBooks Community, MCI.

Thanks for getting back to us about the name of the customer auto-filling in the Ship to and Bill to address field.

Customer names do auto-populate on the Bill to and Ship to address field when you create a transaction. Since you're unable to change the name that auto-populates from the Address field, you need to change this manually on your end.

I also encourage you to send feedback straight to our product development team. The more suggestions we received, the easier it is to improve our products. So for this reason, I recommend that you send feedback by clicking the Gear icon and selecting Feedback.

Let me know if you have additional questions about QuickBooks Online. I'll be sure to get back to you.
