Melio compliance emails

Is anyone else receiving constant compliance e-mails from Melio?  They ask for the invoice on nearly every single payment I make through QB Desktop "Schedule Online Payment" in the Bill tab of the 2022 desktop program.  If the Melio platform is integrated with QB Desktop and the invoices are showing in the Melio window, why is Melio constantly asking for this information, and furthermore, what business is it of theirs of us making a payment to a vendor?  Besides annoying, it is time-consuming and a waste of my time.  What other options do we have to pay vendors electronically?  I cannot continue to use a system that questions my authority to make a payment.

Melio compliance emails

I understand how frustrating and time-consuming it can be to deal with constant requests for invoices on every payment you make through the Schedule Online Payment feature in the Bill tab of QuickBooks, @teeemdee.

Allow me to share details about the compliance emails you are receiving.

On August 1st, we sent an email out to QuickBooks users who had subscribed to Bill Pay powered by Melio but had never used it that on 9/12 these users will no longer have access to Bill Pay powered by Melio but instead will be able to sign up for QB Bill Pay.

We have recently introduced QuickBooks Bill Pay to a select group of users. This new feature enables users to make bill payments directly within QuickBooks, eliminating the need to go through a third-party service. Otherwise, you may also consider alternative third-party applications with features for paying vendor payments electronically. You can also search for apps online through the QuickBooks Marketplace.

I'm providing this link as well, which you can use to document your outstanding payments to vendors within QuickBooks Desktop: Paying Bills in QBDT.

Feel free to leave a comment below if you have additional questions or concerns regarding vendor bill payments. Be assured that we're here to help you discover a solution that aligns with your specific needs.

I saw the e-mail earlier this month, but I've been using Melio since it was introduced as an option (the compliance issues have been recent, not at initiation).  Since you only sent QB Bill Pay to a select group of users, is there a way to add it now and uninstall Melio?  Otherwise, either I have to respond to every compliance request or send checks by mail.  I didn't see a QB bill pay in the marketplace app link you posted.  As for the Vendors>Pay Bills, my only options are Schedule Online Payment (takes me to Melio), Check or Credit Card.

I'll chime in and share some information that could help you get through this.

During the ongoing transition, it is likely that you will receive multiple communications related to bill pay integrations that are powered by Melio, either directly or on behalf of your clients.

QuickBooks highly values partnerships and prioritizes an open ecosystem strategy. As such, we are dedicated, to helping you and your clients synchronize your BILL or Melio accounts through existing partner app integrations found on the QuickBooks App Marketplace.

There is no need for you to take any action at present. You and your clients can continue creating bills as usual and even uninstall Melio later if necessary. We will keep you informed of any further developments.

I'll also leave these articles for future purposes:

Feel free to post here again if you have further QuickBooks-related concerns. We are available 24/7 to lend a hand with each of your queries. Stay safe!

How do I get out of Melio now?  Their platform and model does not work for me.  Thanks.

Welcome back, @teeemdee.

I understand that Melio doesn't work for you and your business. I'd like to redirect you to the best support group available to get Melio disconnected from your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company file.

Since QBDT integrates with Melio for paying bills online, I recommend reaching out to Intuit Bill Pay support powered by Melio at support@qbdtusers.melio.com. This way, they can help you disconnect Melio from QBDT.

Just in case you want to learn more about paying bills within QBDT, you can check out this article for more guidance: Pay bills online from QuickBooks Desktop.

Come back to this post if you have other concerns or follow-up questions about paying bills in QBDT. I'm always here to help.

Thanks but your link to the article is about using Melio to pay bills.  I was asking specifically about how to pay bills using the QBDT Bill Pay that was mentioned by the first person to respond to my inquiry.

Hi, teeemdee.

I've got the steps on how you can pay bills in QuickBooks Desktop.

Here's how:

  1. From the Vendors menu, select Pay Bills.
  2. Select the correct account from the dropdown.
  3. Select the checkboxes of the bills you want to pay from the table.
  4. Enter the date you paid the bill.
  5. Select the payment method.
  6. Select Pay Selected Bills.
  7. Click Done.

I've also added this article for a complete list of workflow and other vendor-related transactions: Accounts Payable workflows in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm always around whenever you have concerns in paying bills.

@Rubielyn_J  - can you share or provide an update on how to use QB bill pay and not Melio?  Is there a link or number I can call to make the change on QBDT?

I can share some information about QuickBooks Bill Pay and QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @teeemdee.

Currently, QuickBooks Bill Pay is only available in QuickBooks Online. It'll allow users to combine bill payments with your accounting process so your bill data moves seamlessly within QuickBooks. You can refer to the following article for more information about QuickBooks Bill Pay. It'll tell you more about subscription options and fees, how payment processing works, and many more.

You may check the following article to check what's available in QBDT: Pay bills online from QuickBooks Desktop.

In the meantime, here's how you can pay your vendors using the Pay Bills window or by the Write Check window: Use Online Bill Pay in QuickBooks Desktop

Let me know if you need further information about QuickBooks Bill Pay. I'm always here to assist. Have a wonderful day!

When will QB bill pay be available to desktop users?

I'm not trying to be rude, but if you look at the subject line, the problem is Melio.  Please stop pushing me to the Melio bill pay information - it's a horrible program!

we migrated to a desktop from online and now half of my data did not get transferred, so we kept ope the online version until we fixed all of the glitches, and now bill pay doesn't work on either software, because Melio closed both accounts. so disappointed that you can't contact them on the phone.

Hi there, @teeemdee. I'll share details about the QuickBooks Bill Pay feature.

Currently, the feature is only available for QuickBooks Online (QBO) users. I know how difficult it is to deal with something that should work as expected. While there's no estimated time for when the option will be available to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), I recommend sending feedback to our product developers.

Rest assure that our product engineers are continually working to improve and add new features to QBDT. They often review the comments and suggestions submitted to them to determine which functions are most desired by users.

Once ready, you can refer to these steps:

  1. In your QBDT account, select the Help tab.
  2. Next, click the Send Feedback Online option.
  3. Then, choose Product Suggestion. A pop-up window displays.
  4. From there, input the details of your product comments, suggestions, and requests.
  5. Click the Send Feedback button to submit.

Additionally, you can visit our QuickBooks Blog page to keep in the loop for the latest features and updates for QuickBooks Desktop.

Please know that you can always post in the Community page if you have any other concerns about managing your vendor transactions. I'd be glad to provide a prompt response to help.
