I use Quickbooks Pro desktop 2020. I want to take mobile credit card payments from customers in their homes at the time of sale.
I assume I can use one of the Quickbooks card readers to use a customer's swipe or chipped card along with the GOpayment app on my cell phone and connect to the card reader with blue tooth.
How do I record the payments in Quickbooks desktop version? Do I manually create an invoice and then go to the Customers>Credit Card Processing Activities>Record Merchant Services Deposits?
...
I was told by Quickbooks support that you can't use Go Payments with the desktop version of quickbooks, only quickbooks online, however, I seem to find information online from people doing it, so what's the real story?
Hey, @mikefinleyco.
Thanks for reaching back out to the Community. Yes, you can use the QuickBooks Go-Payments app even with QuickBooks Desktop. Here's the official link to get the app: Meet GoPayment.
Once you start using the app, the transactions will show in the Merchant Services Center. From there, you can let QuickBooks automatically record bank deposits. Here's how:
You can also check out this article that can provide some additional information about automatically recording QuickBooks Payments bank deposits.
If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to ask. I'm always here to lend a helping hand. Have a great day!
Can you repost that link so I can further research how to successfully transfer my receipt and import to QuickBooks desktop please
Thanks for joining in on the thread, Jaz75.
If you're using the Go Payments or QuickBooks Payments, the credit card payments from your customers, will automatically sync in QuickBooks Desktop once they paid through the invoice link you've sent to them.
If the payment didn't sync to your QuickBooks Desktop, you can follow the What to do if payments in QuickBooks don't match your bank statement section of this article: Automatically record QuickBooks Payments bank deposits.
I'd also recommend keeping your QuickBooks Desktop updated to the latest release. This will remove unexpected results when using the program.
If you're referring to something different, additional details about your concern would be much appreciated. Have a great day!
I made a payment from one of my credit cards yesterday to check out my new Go Payment card reader. How long will it take for it to show up in my Quickbooks Pro 2020 desk top merchant account.
Will I need to do something additional to link to the desk top?
I took a payment using one of my personal credit cards yesterday when I received the card reader. How long will it take for the payment to show up in my merchant services on Quick Books Pro 2020?
I can share some information about when QuickBooks deposits customer payments into your bank account, @JL52.
If you're a new user, your first set of payments will be deposited within 5 business days. It can take some time since we’re still setting up your account. After that, it'll be deposited into your bank account much faster.
Payments made before 3 p.m. PT should be in your bank account in two business days. We'll start the deposit the next business day if you process payments after 3 p.m. PT.
To learn more about this process, check out this article: Find Out When QuickBooks Payments Deposits Your Money.
I'd recommend contacting our Merchants Services Support Team if the payment is still not deposited within the specified time frame. Since they can request account information, this team is the best resource for such questions. They can also check on the payment's status and look into why it hasn't yet been placed into your account.
I'm also adding this resource to know more about recording invoice payments: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.
Please let me know if you require any extra support in handling your transactions. I'll be there to help in any way I can. Have a wonderful day.
