There is an Issue with payment numbers.... They dont show on any report. The only report which exists is payments and invoices which is so unintuitive and unusable with any excel formulas. That report does not show payment numbers... Even when I am on a customer's page... The payment transactions do not show a payment number...
The same thing can be said for Estimates... There is nothing in Quickbooks or their reporting which shows us which Estimates are in which Invoices...
Hi there, @dvaryani98. Thank you for sharing your concern about the payment. I can share some information about the transaction number in your reports.
If you are referring to the payment number to the transaction number, you can just add the Num column. We just need to make sure that you checked and added the Num column which you can find on the Mini Gear icon. Here's a screenshot for visual reference.
Also, QuickBooks Online will automatically assign a transaction number to your sales transactions. For now, you can only open the invoice manually, just click on the linked transactions, and then you will see the estimate link.
Also, I recommend you let our product developers know what features you'd like to add. Sending your feedback will help us not only improve the product but also will help us know what works best for you.
Here's how to send your request:
Our product engineers will consider your suggestions, and you can always check the status of your request through this link: QuickBooks Online Customer Feedback.
In addition, you also have an option to show transaction numbers on sales forms. If you need detailed steps, here is how to customize reports in QuickBooks Online.
Please let me know if you have additional questions about this or anything else. I'm more than willing to assist. Have a great day!
This does not help as the No. for all payments is blank. There is no way to link my Payment and Estimate to an Invoice.
I shall bring this up to the development team
