I am trying to resolve difference between customer payments, which are greater than the invoices sent to them. This is because expenses are paid separately (sent by Excel document, rather than through QBO). I can generally add about 4-5 transactions, but then the "Add new transaction" button becomes greyed out.
Any ideas?
I know how important it is to ensure your sales transactions are recorded accurately in QuickBooks, Brian _SC. I'm here to help you with that.
There are times wherein a browser-related issue can lead to unexpected behaviors when adding transactions. The stored cache can affect the performance of the program.
To resolve this, I'd suggest logging in to your QuickBooks Online account via a private window. This doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to determine if there's an issue with the browser.
Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
Once logged in, try creating a transaction. If you're able to do so, let's clear the browser's cache. This removes its stored files to ensure the program performs efficiently.
If private browsing doesn't work, I'd recommend using other supported browsers. They'll provide the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks.
Additionally, I've included these articles that'll help you ion managing your sales transactions in QuickBooks Online:

thanks but that does not work. I'm using Safari on a Mac. Clearing the cache does not resolve the issue. The problem seems to be that QBO calculates the remaining amount going forward as you enter transactions of the remaining. When you click "Add Transaction", the amount field auto populates with the remainder. After 4-5 transactions, even with a balance remaining to be resolved, the "Add Transaction" button greys out, even though QBO is aware that a balance remains to be resolved. That awareness also prevents you from saving the entry.
Need help. This should not be so difficult.
Brian
thanks for the answer but clearing the cache doesn't work. I'm using Safari browser on a Mac.
The issue seems to be with QBO auto populating the remaining balance on each subsequent line as you resolving transactions. After 3-5 transactions (varies), the "Add Transaction" button greys out. However, QBO is aware that a balance remains to be resolved, so it prevents you from saving the entries. I've tried the "Reset" button multiple times on that screen, and started over....no difference.
It's incredibly frustrating. This should not be so difficult. Help needed please.
thanks
Brian
Verified the problem also exists using a Chrome browser within Windows
