QB POS 11 Receipts & Printing

I have QB POS 11. I am trying to get it setup for my business. I have added items to make  a sale.

I scan the item barcode & everything comes up fine. I click SAVE & PRINT.  I click CASH  & enter amount customer gives me.

EX: sale is 7.50, customer gives me $10.00 bill. When I enter 10.00 that customer gives me, next is

a screen that tells me correct change to give back...I then have to click OK....then next my printer

settings comes up for my TSP100 receipt printer, then I have to click PRINT for the receipt....too many clicks for me!

Is there a way to get QB POS to just print a receipt when I click SAVE & PRINT rather than going thru all these steps, especially on printer settings screen?

I'm about to ditch QB POS & go back to a cash register,,,so much quicker!

Thank you for any help.

QB POS 11 Receipts & Printing

Hi there, Kim75633.

Currently, the option to directly print the receipt through the SAVE & PRINT button is unavailable in QuickBooks Point of Sale. I definitely understand how this feature would help you manage your receipts in a more convenient manner. Thou, having an option to set your printer settings as the default settings or single button for printing would greatly save your time.

Please know that we roll out product enhancements and updates based on our customer's requests. Rest assured, I'll take this as a feedback and share this post to our management. This way, they can pass it to our engineering team for consideration.

As we assess this opportunity, I encourage visiting our blog to stay current with all recent happenings and future developments in QuickBooks, such as updates to newly added features.

Click on File > Preferences > Workstation and Click on the Print Options on the Left.

Select the Print Dialog and clear the Option to display the Print Options Dialog.

Screenshots are attached for the reference.

This will decrease at-least 2 additional Clicks.Print Dialog_1.jpgPrint Dialog_2.jpg

QB POS 11 Receipts & Printing

Is someone able to access this menu in QuickBooks online? I am trying to print receipts using a pos printer (80mm) but the alignment is off. I use qb online.

QuickBooks Online has different menus when configuring print settings, @benzau. I've come to provide you information and steps to get this alignment issue resolved.

When you select the Print option in QuickBooks Online (QBO), your default Print dialog box will appear. Depending on your setup, this might be from your browser, Adobe Acrobat, or your printer’s driver. Furthermore, the steps for adjusting the scale or page size vary for each printing experience.

You can take the following instructions to get this rectified and make your forms print the way you want them:

  1. Check your printer settings. Make sure the paper size is set correctly to 80mm in both the printer settings and QBO. You can usually access it through the Control Panel or the printer's software.
  2. Adjust the margins. Go to the Gear menu and select Custom Form Styles. Choose the receipt template you’re using and click on Edit. From there, you can change the margins to align the content properly on the receipt.
  3. Test print alignment. Print a test receipt to see if the alignment has improved. Otherwise, make further adjustments until everything is correct.
  4. Repair your Adobe Reader. Most printing problems can be sorted by updating Adobe Reader/Acrobat to the latest version or by repairing your Adobe installation.
  5. Update printer drivers. Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed for your POS printer.
