THAT SOUNDS SO TECHNICAL, THE REALITY IS THAT EVERYONE IS REALIZING HOW CROOKED INTUIT REALLY IS.    QUICKBOOKS HAD THE REPUTATION OF BEING THE GO-TO PLACE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES... IN REALITY, CROOKED INTUIT IS SQUEEZING EVERY PENNY FROM SMALL HARD WORKING BUSINESSES, AND MAKING THEIR C.E.O POCKETS FAT WITH CASH. MOST BIG BUSINESSES DO NOT USE CROOKED INTUIT QUICKBOOKS FOR THEIR ACH TRANSACTIONS, $10.00 PER TRANSACTION, WOW THEY ARE OUT OF THEIR MINDS !!!

We do really understand your frustration about the price increase on the ACH payments. As mentioned by my peer DebSheenD on this thread, we made this update to continue investing and to make improvements to the QuickBooks product.

 

However, despite the update, you can request a rate review for your account to avail of payment discounts. Moreover, I still suggest reaching out to our QuickBooks Payments Team to process it for you. They can also take note of your feedback and send it to our Management for review.

 

I'm still open to your replies if you need anything else about processing payments.

So how do we show the WORLD what this company is all about?  I was scammed into ENTERPRISE, not knowing is was SAS with non-ending fees and increases.  We used merchant services and still have to MANUAlLY enter every payment because the auto match doesn’t work.  This company needs to be sued AGAIN and publicly be embarrassed.  What about a CHANGE.ORG petition?

Deb - Thank you for just saying what all of us know (but which Intuit hasn't seemed willing to say): WE RAISED THE FEES BECAUSE WE THINK THE MARKET WILL PAY IT.

 

You could go further and say, "The Payments group needs to hit our revenue and growth numbers like Tax and Small Business and Mint and the other groups have to ... And this is one way we're doing it." 

 

That's fine.  Ya'll gotta do what you need to do to keep your jobs.  It's not something that some of your customers will accept, but speaking truth at least treats us as intelligent people instead of people you're trying to spin.

 

So, I'll treat you with the same respect: The reason this is important, and won't just go away, is that many of us are not retail merchants.  In retail, CC tx fees are normal and generally small.  Many of us are not struggling solo small shop owners.  We're used to waiting days or weeks to get invoices paid, so 1 day deposits provide no value to us.  We aren't opening flower shops or selling bikes or selling cute cupcakes -- the dominant customer profiles you and your Product and Marketing team are using internally to think about your customers are just weirdly wrong.  The "Intuit Giants" minifilm is indicative of this.  The example business owners at QuickBooks Connect are indicative of this.  Ask yourself this: why are (almost) all the FMHs that your employees do involving small retail merchants?  Why is that what you always use in D4D exercises?  I'll speculate that it's because it's easy to find them, and because it's easy to describe their business on a slide, and because it makes employees feel good to think they're helping the owner of a cute little corner shop.

 

Those of us criticizing this change are generally not that type of business owner.  We're still small, so we're wearing a lot of hats.  We're working on the business by typing this response at 6am on a Sunday.  We're conscious of every dollar in unnecessary costs because we're giving up time with our kids to make the business run while expecting one day we won't have to.  We're investing in our own thing so we won't have to rely on someone else giving us a job and telling us what to do later.  We don't accept credit cards because we want to keep costs low so we can compete and still make a profit.  And so, when Intuit says "We're going to take 1% of your revenue" it's just... We go into slay-the-dragon mode.

 

Re: "industry alignment": yes PayPal and Square and other large tech companies like Intuit charge around 1% for stand-alone ACH payment processing.  Maybe the Payments Group sees them as peers and thinks "If they can do it, so can we." But we don't see payments as a standalone product - it's core to what makes QBO valuable to us.  We're paying for software to use double entry accounting for our businesses, not relying on Venmo's UI.  Payments is not a product - it's a feature to hook us into the QBO ecosystem.

 

And one other thing: Melio.  You INTEGRATED it deep into QBO.  They offer FREE incoming and outgoing ACH invoice payments.  How can you say "industry alignment" when your own product offers free ACH from an industry peer?!

 

I know this is getting long, but you seem like someone who can actually engage on the topic thoughtfully.  I love the idea of QBO as "operating system" of small business (and my business).  I want to put it at the center and grow with it.  I want to be successful and see Intuit continue success as well.  I'm an owner of INTU stock.  But, this "1% of revenue" thing is wrong in so many ways.  And mostly it just makes me sad that I have to spend time moving away from software I want to love.  We moved $15k in revenue off of QBO Payments to a different ACH provider in April.  We'll do the rest this month.  We started using SurePayroll instead of Intuit Payroll.  We moved to Clockify instead of QBO Time.  It's the realization that Intuit isn't really there for us, and so we have to go elsewhere, and the understanding that I can't really make QBO  the center of the business.  That's the frustrating part -- I want to, but feel like you're an unwilling partner.

 

It's ok - it's just business.  But, I'm hopeful that you'll share this with the front line Product Managers and Directors for an unfiltered view from a customer.  And, it's never too late to correct mistakes.  Flat fees for ACH, at some level, is the correction here.

Unfortunately, although Quickbooks is (falsely) advertising (both in writing and by phone) that one of the qualifications for a rate review is that we process an average $7,500 month for 3 months, you're not honoring that. Instead, you're choosing to apply in practice (at least for my company) a completely different requirement of at least $7,500 each month for 3 months. We average well above $7,500 and have for years, but we bill on quarterly cycles so can occasionally can dip below. Since we went below for March (though well over for April), you're denying us a rate review at this time.

The rep was unable to explain why you're using different qualification requirements and unable to further assist. I've been trying to escalate, but it appears no one with any authority is willing to talk to me. Last Tuesday, I rep promised me a call-back within a day or so, and when I called on Friday I was told that the case was "closed."

You only gave us a few days' warning so we didn't have a chance to find a difference payment processor before quarterly billing, and your lack of co-operation with a rate review is further delaying this process and costing us even more money.

Everything about this is dishonest and scammy.

Your RATE REVIEW is another joke, have you tried calling them? They dropped it a dollar, what a joke, too late anyway, I have already switched to another ACH processor.  My ACH invoices this month were $160,000 USD, there is no way I would ever pay greedy intuit $1600+ in fees!

 

Your reply just like all the other replies from "Quickbooks Team" are all scripted and all B.S... 

In my opinion, the Crooked Intuit Quickbooks Ecosystem works in the same way that drug dealers operate, your first few orders are free or discounted, then you pay big time once you are hooked.

 

We used to have unlimited free use of CLASSES for many many years, recently changed, now you have to pay crooked Intuit  $1800 USD to keep using that feature. The number of accounts we had in QB did not matter, we could have a Chart of Accounts with as many accounts we needed free, for many many years, recently changed, now it will cost you $1800 USD per year to keep using that system. Invoices could be paid via ACH for $0.50 per transaction, so we moved customers to ACH, now to keep using ACH we would have to pay Crooked Greedy Intuit $10 per transaction, in my case over $1600 per month in extra ACH fees, what a rip-off!!! Most banks charge $0.25 per transaction. Why are you assuming I want my money the next day? I was ok waiting 3-4 days. 

 

Then came TAGS, a nice feature, now you are limited to the number of groups you could have, unless, of course, you PAY CROOKED GREEDY INTUIT MORE MONEY... This list goes on and on and on... Soon we will see a limit in the number of checks you could enter, or the number of sale invoices, etc.

I called the customer services today to see if there is an option to opt-out. Like you said, of course not. They just want to make more money and use that as an excuse.

The question is: is there other services out there that charges a flat fee?

I have contacted customer support to see if I can opt-put, of course not. Like others said: this is their way of charging small business more money and using the excuse of next day payment. I hope enough of us move our business elsewhere, and they realize that there is no going back. I am sure none of us wants to deal with the hassle and mistrust to the company.

It depends on your specific question. Do you still need to use QBO? You may have other options to accept ACH payment for free. If you are looking for a QBO replacement, I have yet to find another accounting app accepting ACH payment for free.

I only use for ACH payment. Not sure if it works out for others on the 2 options posted. I am having trouble with Melio verification, will try Veem.

I find it quite odd that QB decides in the middle of a pandemic when the Benefits of ACH are the most important to change their pricing from $.50 to $10.   I mean they didnt even give us an option.  I had zero issues with waiting on my money to hit my account I dont need to get it next day for 20x the cost.  ABSURD.  Honestly this feels alot like price gouging.  Gas shortages in the southeast the state and feds dont allow price gouging but during a pandemic when this ACH is critical they hit us hard.  WOW classy move QB.  I will be checking into who to report this to and if there is any lawsuits being filed against them for COVID related issues.

I am so angry at all this I have a tiny business but these fees are coasting me $100.mos!!!  Please list other options for online bookeeping-so my accountant can use it too-thanks

I think I am B2C  I have a day care  so i invoice parents for service monthly. I dont Think I can use Melio as it it B2B???

Probably need to keep QBO as my accountant can use it and I will add UniPay for payments Thanks for your help

You may explore Melio first and run the payment test.  If it doesn't fit with your business, you should explore another option.

Such a shame that Intuit takes a price increase in this manner.  Aside from actual cost, it shows me how they are thinking about the future, and that it's time to look for other options.  I love the service, but instead of adding more value to it, they are depreciating it's value.  Flashing lights are signifying that it's time to look for alternatives.

You may switch to another accounting app but you will still need to have a 3rd party app to accept ACH payment for free. Contact us in private to purchase the conversion service later.
