We are new to QB bill pay after having to drop Bill.com and make the switch. I have 20 invoices to pay in Quickbooks bill pay but after 7 payments it will not let me do anymore. Is there a daily limit?
Try opening your QBO account on any private/incognito browser.
We've had the same problem. We've been told there is a daily limit, but we've not been told what that limit is. We were advised to send large payments in smaller amounts, 24 hours apart. Not really a practical way to run a business, and this is hindering our ability to function.
I'm waiting on an answer from QB.
Hi there, @bcolumbus. Let me route you to the support that can further assist you.
Certain users have standard daily and monthly payment limits in QuickBooks Bill pay plans, which are determined based on their banking and processing history. Once these limits are reached, you'll be unable to make online payments until they are restored.
Since your concern involves personal details, I recommend contacting our online team support. They have the necessary tools and expertise to explain further about your bill payment credit limit and be able to request them to increase it.
Here's how:

I don't see this in any of the documentation or terms of services. Where can I find this policy, and importantly, how can I know what our limits are based on this policy? Our AP runs can fluctuate widely in terms of volume and overall dollar amounts, so I'd like to know what's impacting our inability to process these payments. I've spoken with customer service for the bill pay function, but they were not able to tell me what our limits are. Can you provide insight into this?
@IrizA I should've noted - we have Bill Pay premium,
Hello there, @bcolumbus.
Let me assist you by delving into this thread. I will provide you with detailed information about QuickBooks, including any concerns you may have regarding documentation or terms of service and the limitations based on this policy.
Your concern about what's impacting the inability to process these payments is explained in this article, INTUIT TERMS OF SERVICE, specifically Money Movement Service that Supplemental Terms for Money Movement Service.
IPI may establish processing limits and assign a maximum dollar amount for the Money Movement Service provided to you during any applicable period identified by IPI. Consistent with obligations under applicable state money transmission laws and federal anti-money laundering laws, IPI may, in its sole discretion and with or without notice or cause, place holds on any Payments (as defined below) initiated by you to protect against potential risk or fraud.

Reasons may be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to:
Concerning communicating with customer service for the bill pay function, they could not tell the limits since these limits are outside the scope of work responsibilities as this involves personal details or information of your account.
Additionally, here is an article that you can read to combine bill payments with your accounting process, so your bill data moves seamlessly within QuickBooks:

@Shania_C Thank you for providing this detail.
The factor of payment history does raise the question of how/when would our limit change over time if we occasionally have very large bills to pay to vendors, but not always? And if the system isn't including a fail-safe, such as some kind of double-factor confirmation of large payments before making them, then how would any algorithm determine our limit is worth raising? Is there a plan for how that limit gets raised over time?
As to the question of "scope of work" for the customer service rep, I would strongly disagree. If a customer cannot call and get some kind of answer or clarity, that seems like a failure of the customer service on the part of the company.
Additionally, while what you've described here makes sense when written in a Terms of Service document, the QB product provides an error that states that a "payment cannot be made at this time" and does not indicate that a payment is above a limit. A small change there alone would be very helpful.
And finally, as I explained to a very helpful customer service person on the phone today, knowing the limit is necessary for us to actually function, so we know when we can use QB bill pay function (and pay QB for its service) and when we need to use another method. As it is, I suspect QB will be driving away customers due to a highly limited and nontransparent system.
Consider having another app as the backup option as I mentioned earlier. We have not found them implementing the same restrictive policies as QB Billpay does.
I'm having the same issue but I believe it is related to the dollar amount on the invoices I'm trying to pay. When its less than 50K I can always process but >50K it will say "unable to process at this time".
I have called CS 5+ times and they agree it is an internal limit but no one can adjust these limits or explain how they are applied.
QBs why can't you adjust these limits where appropriate so we can pay vendors as needed?

We switched back to using bill.com. It all works the same, the only difference is that when we actually pay the bills we do it through the bill.com website instead of through QuickBooks. The vendors and invoices sync to bill.com, and the payments sent syncs back to QuickBooks. It's been such a relief. The payments go out more quickly, aren't limited due to some random unexplainable limit set by QB, and the payments are also documented much more clearly in bill.com than it was with QB Bill Pay, which has no documentation at all. Do yourself a favor, and switch back.
