Withheld payments

Apparently this is a common practice of Intuit.  They are holding well over $200k of our payments to our vendor for over a month, with no end in sight  Everything that has been asked for has provided.  Hours upon hours of time has been spent on the phone.  Our vendor was advised to close their merchant account (which they did) and the funds would be returned to us.  But no ... that's not the case so far.  I'm curious to know if this happened on the "click to pay" or direct payments out of Quickbooks?

They are holding over $200k of payments from us to our vendor.  It's been since 12/7/2021.  We are all so frustrated and disappointed.  We can't get them to give the money back to us or release it to our vendor.  It seems like they would have to release it one way or another.

Intuit started delaying payments on me March 1 and now we are almost 4k. I was told my case was cleared, and funds approved. I get up this morning to see this is not true. Later this morning I am going to call the Attorney Generals office after reading this lengthy list of problems. Intuit is a publicly held company, and they are not being forthright to the stock holder in my opinion. This would suggest other market regulators may have some questions as well. And never forget that the secret service handles credit card fraud.

We FINALLY received the funds on January 14th - more than a month after our customers paid.  Not only did they not share with us any of the interest that they collected on these funds, they REFUSED to waive their usual processing fees!

How did you get QB to send you your money? We are still dealing with payments not received form quicks since June 2021! It’s pretty ridiculous !

It wasn't easy.  Basically called them nearly every day for about a month.  And also called them out on Facebook, which may have helped.  It was still a lot of hassle, though, and completely uncalled for.  Very disreputable business practices, for sure!

I asked for the full name of the 24th person i spoke to.  I told her that if she didn’t give me an immediate answer about my money that her name would be on the note I left behind.   They were holding money of mine that was causing a domino effect of late payments, fees and cancellations.   We were coming right off our last PPP and this was devastating for us.    There is no fair playing with these people [removed].  They are scum. They owe me interest on my money they held.

Thanks for your insights! I will continue to press to have our withheld funds. It’s ridiculous they can’t even provide a reason not give us our money!!! A publicly traded company should have better service then this. I wonder if Intuit is inflating their earnings with our withheld funds.

I have 90 dollars in nsf fees and 1200 in their fundbox app in interest fees for covering the 5000 I needed to have covered the payroll and 1900 in negative balance. That is enough for me to sue  for satisfaction as these are real damages caused by morons that have zero understanding of the needs of small business with their 2 billion in stated profits in 2021.

---Stole money and changed it to withheld status after money was deposited into our bank from October of last year.   4months after the deposit, they steal the money and put it into withheld status---and no, my customer does not have the money, either.   A bunch of crooks, that is the only way to describe them.   

You all should be ashamed that you work for a company that purposefully steals with the intent to defraud their own customers, making them go through endless hoops with customer service, with no chance of actually recovering your money unless you file suit.

We finally received our funds - just over a month after our customers made the payments and only after lots and lots of phone calls and calling Intuit out on Facebook.  I joined the Class Action Meeting Hub back in January while we were still fighting to receive our funds.

This company is a SCAM! Had I read all these posts before becoming a customer I obviously would have went with another company. I too am yet another one of their victims of the “withheld” funds status. As the others have stated this is beyond ridiculous that they can hold OUR money for such long periods of time. How can people run businesses this way?! 

This is the worst invoicing/payment app I have ever come across. It’s too bad because I love their invoicing system but taking weeks and in some cases MONTHS to pay customers out THEIR money..this cannot possibly be legal. 

Waiting for my funds to drop into my account (if they ever do) and I will be cancelling this service ASAP. They had no problem transferring my $1 test payment but as soon as a larger amount tried to go through they hold. 

QUICKBOOKS SHOULD BE CALLED SCAMBOOKS!!!!!!!

Literally going through this right now.  Payments held since February 28th.   Tens of thousands.  Quickbooks apparently tried to make a deposit right when my account was locked for suspected fraud.  It was literally locked for an hour or so until I called the bank.   

That's all it took. 

Now, after hours on the phone and in live chat, I'm left with two options:

1) Have my bank write a letter saying my account is open for transactions, verify that it was locked at the time and have it signed by a representative
2) "Update my bank account" AKA - get a new bank account.   Literally. 

Called Capital One (my bank).   Guess what they don't do?   Customized letters.  They will hop on a 3-way call however.  But guess who doesn't do 3-way calls?  Quickbooks.  

Capital One has a boilerplate verified account letter I can download, but that isn't good enough for Quickbooks.

So, now my only option is to get a new bank account.   Because, you know, that's SUPER convenient.  

I'm beyond pissed off.   Quickbooks is holding OUR money, but making me jump through hoops to get it.   Not only that, one of the largest banks in the world can't accommodate their request of a letter....that should tell these people they need to modify their "Company Policy".  

I'm not sure how i'm going to make payroll.  Some vendors have already suspended our accounts.   This is what happens when companies become so disconnected from their customers.   Already switched to Stripe.   Switching to Freshbooks for accounting and invoicing.   

I own a marketing agency so we're already getting a plan together to get the word out.   We would love to get in touch with businesses affected by this, so comment below if you are interested and we'll reach out.

They are sitting on $250,000 of our money currently. We uploaded documents and waited two days. We called them and they said they have not received the documents even though they show in the portal which they acknowledged.  She said that she does not have the authority to advance the issue. We asked to speak to someone who does. She said that the payments review team is not customer facing. Our incredibly profitable business may collapse as a result because we cannot access our money.

Did you ever get this resolved and if so, how long until they released the funds from being withheld? I'm in the situation currently. I was told the payments never processed yet my customers are saying their cards have been charged. Also, I had several payments saying delayed or under review that quickbooks customer service toldme would process and not be withheld yesterday, are now showing up as withheld. Completely frustrating and the lack of service is astonishing.

Our customers were charged on December 10th, 13th and 14th.  We finally received the funds (almost $57K) in our account on January 14th - after many calls and emails to QuickBooks Support.  It was after I called them out on Faceboook and joined The Intuit Class Action Meeting Hub Group on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/3065[removed]0) that I finally started getting responses from QuickBooks other than the constant "we've escalated your case" line that I kept receiving week after week.

Thank you for your reply. I'm currently out a little over $40k they are holding and terrified to accept more payments from a customer just to have it withheld also. How do I join this lawsuit? I clicked on the link and was a deadend. Any advise to help me escalate this and get it resolved would be much appreciated. Do you still use QB to process customer payments or have you switched to another source?

We're still using QuickBooks Merchant Services because we haven't yet found another viable option.  As for the class action lawsuit, I don't know that one has actually been started, this is just a group on Facebook that is looking into whether it's feasible.  QuickBooks will not allow me to post a working link on this page, so I would recommend logging into Facebook and doing a search for Intuit Class Action Meeting Hub - or maybe even just Google Intuit Class Action Group.

I hope they give you your money! QB is still holding over $6,000 because my account is "frozen" and no one is following up because I already spent 55hrs + on the phone with QB and everyone I talked to cannot help. This started Feb 2022 and as a small business owner, it's an absolute nightmare for customer service.

You are not alone! As they have screwed my company Xmenno Media over by withholding $6,000 + in the business account and they all claim it's "only a matter of 48hrs" and everything will work! It's an absolute joke as I have worked over 55hrs since Feb 2022 to clear this issue and it's now JUNE 2022!!! I have submitted all documents. No one is helping. the management does not care.
