Turning off a payment type on invoice disabled?

EDITED: For some reason now all of the sudden the edit link does appear. Not sure what happened there.

________

Up until a few days ago when creating an invoice in QBO you could toggle an edit button on the invoice itself to change the available payment options SPECIFIC to that invoice only. This would override the global setting for ONLY THAT INVOICE. This is described under step 2 of this help article.

Up until recently, that's exactly what happened. You can also see this in action in the second screenshot in this post.  Notice the "edit" link next to online payments. Now however when I try to do an invoice, the edit link does not appear. See the attached screenshot as evidence of this. Did something change? Is this a glitch? This inability to edit payment options per invoice would make myself and a lot of my clients stop using QBO as a payment processing tool.

Turning off a payment type on invoice disabled?

I appreciate your effort in updating us that it works fine now, UMDJeremy.

The missing Edit option could be caused by a browser-related issue. The stored cache can affect the performance of QuickBooks Online, which can cause unexpected behavior.

To prevent this from happening in the future, I'd suggest clearing your browser's cache. This helps remove its stored cache to ensure QuickBooks perform efficiently.

If this issue occurs, I'd recommend accessing your account in a private window. This doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to determine if there's an issue with the browser.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

Once signed in, open the invoice. If you're able to see the Edit icon, clear your browser's cache

In case private browsing doesn't work, I'd recommend using different browsers. They'll provide you the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks.

Additionally, I've included these articles that'll help you learn more about QuickBooks Payments:

Feel free to comment down below if you have any other concerns or questions about managing your payment options on your invoices. I'm always glad to help in any way I can.
