Vendor bills not showing up in Online Billpay

Hello,

I'm using Quickbooks Online & using Online Billpay to pay most of my vendors. I am using Billpay checks (not electronic payments).

 

For some reason, however, I have 1 vendor whose bills do not show up in Billpay. At the Expense window in QBO the bill shows up as "Pay Bill Online". But when I click on Pay Bill Online this bill does not show up in the Bill pay window for payment.

I looked in the Vendor setup for this vendor and I don't see anything different (I have their email address) from the vendors that I am currently paying with Billpay.

 

Can you help please?

I can surely help you add and pay your bills, EmoryK.

 

Let's verify if the Add bills to Bill Pay option for the vendor who owns the bill is turned on. This way, you can add or their bills will populate on the Pay bills online screen. Let me show you how to check that out.

 

  1. Click the Expenses menu.
  2. Select Vendors.
  3. Click on the vendor's name. 
  4. Above the list of transactions, you'll see an option where you can toggle the Add bills to Bill Pay option.

You'll need to make an update to the bills that had previously synced in order to bring them back into Bill Pay. It allows the bill to repopulate on the Pay bills online page.

 

If you followed these steps and bills are still not showing, this could be a browser-related problem. Let's confirm first using your browser's private window. Here's how:

 

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P.
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

Log into your QuickBooks Online account and try to pay the bill. If this works successfully, this shows that your cache and cookies may need to be cleared. Go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. You can also other supported browsers if the issue persists.

Hi Cathrine,

 

When I go to Expenses/Vendors & select the vendor in question, there is no Add Bills to Billpay option.

It says "Bill Pay Online: International (the vendor's name) is setup to receive checks". 

Even when I add a new bill, it shows the Pay bill online option for the bill but when I click on it the bill does not show up in Bill Pay.

 

I also tried the private browser approach but Bill Pay doesn't work at all. It says "Bill Pay isn't working right now."

 

Any other ideas?

Please note: Bill pay works just fine for my other vendors. It's just this one vendor that doesn't work for some reason.

Let me help share additional insights about this. If you receive a bill in foreign currency in the Incoming bills tab, you'll have to download it, then link it to the bill in QuickBooks Online. Please be reminded that it won't be visible with the bill in Bill Pay.

I'd like to clarify if your Multicurrency feature is turned on. Also, we can try looking into your vendor's preferred payment currency. It can be that you accidentally selected a foreign currency under the I pay this vendor with option. However, if it's set to USD and the same thing happens after the browser troubleshooting steps I shared, I suggest reaching out to Our Phone Support Team. They have the resources to further check the issue and investigate why you're prompted with those error messages.

OK I checked an multi-currency is not turned on. And, as I mentioned before, the browser settings didn't help.

So I'll try the phone support team.
