What is another alternative to QuickBooks Payment?

Intuit disconnected QuickBooks POS.

I have clients who are still using it, but they can accept credit cards.

Is there an alternative to accept credit cards with QuickBooks POS?

If not, can you make the software open source so some programmers can modify it to accept credit cards with other providers like Authorise.Net,PayPoint,First Data?

Thank You

I recognize the significance of paying your invoices using credit cards, Talley Ouro.

If you have QuickBooks Payments, customers can pay their invoices by credit card or ACH bank transfer. The GoPayment app enables you to take cash, check, and credit card payments wherever and whenever you need to.

Once you sign up for QuickBooks Payments, we'll have to order a card reader to easily receive payments. Otherwise, we'll have to enter the info manually to charge your customers.

Furthermore, I recommend contacting our developers to see if they can accommodate the sync.

Good thing you posted in the Community, Talley. I appreciate your effort in providing questions about your processing payments concern in QuickBooks.

You're right about Intuit discontinuing QuickBooks Desktop POS as well as certain services connected to it. The good thing is that Intuit has partnered with Shopify to bring you a modern retail solution that integrates with QuickBooks Desktop financial software.

For more info about the discontinuation of QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale and to switch to Shopify, see this article: QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale discontinuation.

Regarding of making the software an open source, I don't have the authority to make such decisions. Open-sourcing software is a complex process that involves legal considerations and the consent of Intuit. That said, I recommend sending feedback directly to our product developers. This way, they can further review which parts of the program need enhancements and consider adding them to future updates. To do it, just go to the Help icon in your QuickBooks account and then select Send Feedback or visit our developers page.
