Turn off 2 step authorization in Quickbooks time

I am a sole proprietor using Quickbooks Time to track my time by client. I have no need for two step authorization in my Quickbooks time.  There is no risk whatsoever.  Yet every time I try to access Quickbooks time, it sends a code to my email address.  It doesn't matter if I clocked in five minutes ago and now I want to clock out, I have to sign in all over again, which includes going to my email to get a code.  Sometimes, like just now, it then sends another code to my phone. So then I have to type that code in as well.  It is absolutely infuriating, unnecessary and I really want to turn this off.  I have even contacted Quickbooks support by phone, and that person was not help at all.

I have followed the instructions that say to log into your Insuit account and turn off two step authorization.  That has no effect.  If anyone can help me with this, I would be very grateful.  Thank you!

Turn off 2 step authorization in Quickbooks time

I appreciate your effort in resolving this issue and sharing those details, jaspitzer.

The two-two-factor authentication is an additional layer that strengthens the security of your QuickBooks Time account. But if you want to turn off this feature automatically, you'll need to update the phone number connected to your Intuit Account.

To do this, you'll need to follow these steps:

  1. Fill in the Proof of identity form. You'll also need to attach a copy of your driver's license, state ID, passport, or notarized document when completing the form.
  2. Once the file is uploaded, hit Submit.
  3. Sign in to your Intuit Account after you receive a notification that your phone number is updated,
  4. Click on Sign in & security.
  5. Click the 2-step verification.
  6. Toggle the radio button to turn off the Use 2-step verification switch.
  7. Enter your account password, then select Continue.
  8. A message reads that 2-step verification is now off. You’ll also receive an email confirming your security preference update.

However, if you're using or want to use the same phone number linked to your QuickBooks Time account, feel free to see the detailed steps in this article: Secure your Intuit Account and prevent lockout with extra verification methods.
