I want to make sure you receive the assistance you need while using QuickBooks Online (QBO), gunboatlittlewin.

To ensure we're aligned, I'd like to know more about the challenges you are facing.

  1. Which specific dropdown menu on your QBO account disappears? Is it also the same page which auto-scrolls back to the top in minutes?
  2. Are the transactions that are difficult to match and dates appear as before the purchase made downloaded transactions that are showing on the bank feeds?
  3. Were you able to successfully upload the receipt to your QBO account, then it's showing incorrect data. Or does the wrong data show when you're still capturing the photos?

It would be also helpful if you could provide screenshots to give us a better understanding of the situation.

Please feel free to leave a comment below with your response. We are here to assist you. Have a great day!

1) Menu -> Transactions -> Bank Transactions

-> Credit Card -> For Review

select a transaction to review

click dropdown menu: Account*

This is the dropdown menu that repeatedly returns to the top while I am scrolling down

and yes, same one where options on the dropdown menu disappear (they sometimes reappear later)

2) this is also where the dates are appearing as before the transaction has taken place

3) When I use the app, when I take a photo of the receipt, all the information it is grabbing off the receipt is incorrect. I think it is because I am in Europe and the account is setup for USA. The receipts in Europe use a comma , instead of a point . So the amount reads as millions.

In the end I have to manually adjust everything anyway so now I just load Jpegs or pdfs of the receipts separately and manually enter everything.

I did not setup this account and so have minimal understanding on what is what.

All I need to do is account for and categorise purchases and attach their receipts.

I realise Quickbooks is FAR more powerful than what I need it for, but it is what was chosen for me and I am desperately trying to make it work but seem to end up spending DAYS entering in receipts

This isn't the experience we want you to encounter while managing transactions in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, @gunboatlittlewin.

I've got some insights on how you can overcome this matter thoroughly.

Firstly, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to help you fix the dropdown menu when selecting an account or category.

You can log in to your QBO account using a private browser. This way, you can double-check the accurate setup on your settings. You can use these shortcut keys on your keyboard to access incognito mode:

  • Safari: ControlOption + P
  • Google Chrome: Press Ctrl + ShiftN
  • Firefox or Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P

If that works fine using a private browser, go back to your original browser and clear its cache so the system can start fresh. Also, using a different supported browser can help us dig deep into the root cause of this unexpected behavior.

Moreover, when categorizing the receipts, QuickBooks will base the information that is in the receipts. If what's indicated in the image, that's the only way QBO will follow.

Furthermore, you can go to Accounts and Settings to change your currency preference from a comma to a point when processing receipts.

Here's how:

  1. On the upper right corner, look for the Gear icon.
  2. Choose the Account and Settings.
  3. Select the Advanced tab.
  4. Click the Other preferences menu.
  5. Under the Currency format dropdown, choose your preference which is the decimal point.
  6. Once done making changes, hit Save.

In addition, I'd also suggest downloading a CSV copy of the credit card transactions. Then import it so you don't have to manually enter the receipts in QBO.

Lastly, I'm adding a resource you can browse just in case you need assistance personalizing the appearance of your sales forms: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Please know that you're always welcome to reach out for further inquiries about handling your transactions. Assistance is just a few clicks away.
