Buy nowNo need to mention that 1099s are not required for less than $600. I'm aware of that.
I have a client that is requesting one although the total amount is less. I'd like to make my clients happy, which is a lost art these days. How can I generate a 1099 for this and other clients that want one? I've struggled trying several avenues only to come up empty.
Thanks!

I hope all is well with you, Randy. I'm glad that my colleague answered your queries directly. Allow me to clarify your follow-up inquiry about filing the corrected 1099.
QuickBooks Online is designed to comply with IRS regulations. As a result, the system generates 1099 forms only for vendors whose total payments meet or exceed the $600 threshold.
With the workaround provided above, you can still achieve your goal. Once you manually submit your 1099 forms to the IRS, you'll need to follow the same process if corrections are required.
Furthermore, you can consult a tax professional or accountant for more in-depth guidance and information on adhering to IRS guidelines.
To stay compliant, you can check out these resources that provide comprehensive information on tax regulations, filing requirements, and other essential policies:
For future reference, if you want to examine your business's finances closely, you can run a payroll report. It will provide a detailed summary of your company's payroll expenses, including employee salaries, bonuses, taxes, and other related costs.
I appreciate your attention to these matters, especially after your recent questions. If you have any more queries or need further assistance with the 1099 filing process, I'm here to help. Let's make sure everything goes smoothly, Randy.
I understand you want to fulfill your client's requests regarding generating 1099 forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Randy. Let me discuss the specifics below.
QBO remains compliant with IRS regulations. As such, it cannot generate 1099 forms for vendors whose total payments fall below the IRS-mandated threshold of $600 for the tax year.
However, as a workaround, you can download the necessary 1099 forms from the official IRS website and manually input all relevant information.
Additionally, I'll share a valuable resource to help you obtain paper copies of your 1099 forms: Print your 1099 and 1096 forms.

Thank You!!
This was probably the most direct and complete answer I've seen in the QB community. Often there are responses that include clips of help verbiage or a link to an article that only remotely covers the general topic and leaves the question unanswered.
OK, so the situation is as I had thought. I have one follow up question. I was going to do a manual 1099 for this client, but them would I not be required to issue a corrected 1099 A and 196 in the same format as the original filing (electronically) with the IRS? If that's the case QBO would not make this possible, correct?
Thanks again.
