Add more tracking fields

I wish QBO had the ability to add more tracking fields (locations, classes). At least one more. That would be ideal for transaction granularity. It would also be nice to be able to rename Classes. For example, we use Division, Department, and Sub-Department. If I could at least rename classes to Department that would be cool.

Add more tracking fields

We always strive to provide the best experience with the product, steve-fitzgerald.

I know how beneficial it is to your business to add more tracking fields (locations, classes) and rename the Class field. However, this option is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

What we can do is to add three custom fields as a workaround to add more tracking fields. Just open the invoice and click the Gear icon on the top of it. Then, click the Add your own field link and enter each field as Division, Department, and Sub-Department.

For the Class tracking setup, we have the option to assign classes as One to entire transaction or One to each row in transaction.

If you have a customize invoice or estimates, just import them to QBO. See Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates article for the detailed steps.
