Attempting to create a user so my employees can snap receipts and link them to jobs in the field, mobile app says limited profile is not supported, any way to get around?

QB Mobile makes it seem like only users with ADMIN access can use, but I don't want my employees to have full access because they simple do not need it. How is it that QB has a receipt snap feature specifically for the mobile app but you can only use it if you're the ADMIN.

For now, giving specific access to a user such as getting snap receipts and linking them to jobs is unavailable in QuickBooks.

Let me provide information regarding snapping receipts in QuickBooks Online (QBO), woodmoon.

 

The option to add an employee to snap receipts is unavailable in QBO. We can add them as a user so they'll get to upload or snap receipts without giving them permission to your reports and other financial information. However, there are limitations when adding users depending on your subscription. To add a user, here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon and choose Manage Users.
  2. Select Add user.
  3. Tap Standard user in the Select user type window, then Next.
  4. In the Select access rights section, choose the access you want for this user.
  5. Tap Next and then select the user settings.
  6. Fill out their contact information, then press Save.

 

You'll want to know the different user types and levels of access in QuickBooks, the Manage users in QuickBooks Online article will provide you with complete information. This also contains helpful links related to your concern.

 

Also, you can connect a third-party app that your employee can use to upload receipts. Just check out the apps that are compatible with QuickBooks at the https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/ link. We can also do it in QBO by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Apps on the left side menu.
  2. Search for the app in the Find apps to streamline your work field. 
  3. Look for the app that supports the integration.
