Can I create a statement showing past due invoice numbers and amounts instead of just balance carried over from previouse months?

Good day, @Anonymous.

I can walk you through the steps in creating a statement that shows past due invoice numbers with amounts from previous months.

You can create the statement you want with the information you need. Here’s how:
1.    Click the Plus (+) icon and select Statement.
2.    On the drop-down, choose Open Item as your Statement Type.
3.    Enter Statement Date.
4.    Choose Overdue on the Customer Balance Status drop-down.
5.    If you wish to print the statement, click Print or Preview at the bottom of the page.
6.    Hit Print.

This should get you pointed in the right direction. If there’s anything else you need, don’t hesitate to let me know. I’ll be on a look out for your response. Enjoy your day!

Greetings, @aquaclear.

As of now, the option to customized the statement and have it in number is currently not available in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Rest assured, I'll take note of this idea and pass it along to our product engineers. This way, they'll consider adding this in our future updates.

In the meantime, I encourage checking our QuickBooks blog page. From there, you get to know first hand on what's new in QBO.

Also, you might want to check this great article that can guide you effectively in enhancing your business brand: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online

Please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with. Your business is my top priority. Stay safe and take care!

Opps.  I missed that this was in the Online version forum.  I have Desktop Pro.  Do you know if that option is available with the Desktop version?

Hello there, aquaclear.

You can definitely create statements to your customers in QuickBooks Desktop and select additional options. I'll show you how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
  2. Select Customers and click Create Statements.
  3. Enter the statement options such as All open transaction as of Statement Date, and select the customers.
  4. From the Select Additional option, you can further filter the statements infromation.
  5. Click Preview to see how it looks and select to either Print or E-mail it.

I'll be here if you need more help with creating statements. Take care always and have a great day!

Thanks Catherine,

That was helpful.

But my main question was, using the Desktop version, can the Statement be numbered so as to have a reference for myself and customer?

A statement is a summary of the customer's account, Aquaclear.

We're unable to add a number on the sales form.

I'll share the article on how to create a billing statement for future reference.
