Are you trying to search for your customer's billing address or use the billing address in searching the customer? Either way, you can use the search field to look for the answer:

In the desktop version I could sort by name or street address. When I select the search bar it only searches by customer names. No addresses populate to search. How do I can the search to include addresses too?

As mentioned by my colleague above you can search your customer address when you click Sales on the left pane.
Another option is by using the Advanced Search feature:
Also, if your Quickbooks Online account isn't updated that's the possible reason why you can't search the address of your account. QuickBooks already rolled up a new latest update with more features.
I've attached a screenshot below for the difference.
If you have noticed, the search bar says "Find a customer, project, or company" while the other one says "Search." The "Search" means you'll be able to search using the address while the "Find a customer, project, or company" won't.

so at my old company in the customers > customer center , I could type in the numerical part of the address , or street name and it would bring up all the customers , jobs and or invoices associated with the address ( QB enterprise ) so at my new company we just switched to enterprise gold edition and I can not search address or street name in the same manner . Why not or where or how can I facilitate searching this way , it was not going through a report , or sales tab or control F , please help !!!! And all the other answers are for QBO

You can still search for customers by typing the numerical part of their address or street name in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. Let's make sure your program is up to date with the latest release so you can take advantage of the most recent features and fixes. Then, you can run the verify and rebuild to ensure your company file is free from any possible data issues.
