Can I simply record check book register?

Good day, adoc55.

 

Let me help with your question about checkbook register in QBO. Are you trying to add an account register where you can record transactions? If so, follow these steps on how to add an account in QBO:

 

  1. Go to the Gear or Settings ⚙ icon and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select New to create a new account.
  3. Click the dro-down list for Account Type, then select an account type.
  4. In the Detail Type, select the detail type that best fits the transactions you want to track. Learn more about detail types.
  5. Type in the name of the account or register, then add a description as well.
  6. Enter all other details and click Save and close

If you're referring to recording transactions directly into the register, follow these steps on how to do that:

 

  1. Open the account register in your Chart of Accounts. 
  2. At the very top of the list or right after the most recent transaction, click the drop-down list beside Add journal entry, Add deposit or Add checks. You can also press Ctrl Alt + N as a shortcut.
  3. Select the type of transaction that you want to add. 
  4. Fill out the fields to complete the transaction.
  5. Click Save.

Can I simply record check book register?

Click Home Icon-"Get things done."

Click "Reconcile" Icon (bottom right).

At the top of the page click the hyperlink "Bank register."

Click drop down box and your bank account name should appear.

Select the bank and the register should populate.
