Can we change shipping address to job address?

QuickBooks automatically calculates sales tax based on where you sell, what you sell and other transaction details. Changing the shipping address to the job address affects the sales tax calculation.

The tax agencies and rates are based on the location of sale or the ship to address entered on the sales form.  For additional information, this article provides an overview of tracking sales tax on sales forms: Use automated sales tax on an invoice or sales receipt.

For tracking purposes, you can consider adding another field and name it to job address. Here’s how:

1. Click on the Gear icon at the top to choose Custom form styles under Your Company.
2. On the All lists page, select the invoice/sales receipt you’re working on and then hit the Edit link.
3. Tap the Content tab and click on the header of the transaction to access the Display section.
   
4. Press the Custom field link.
   
5. Mark one of the boxes and add a name into the field box (job address).
   
6. Click Done to keep the changes.

When you create a transaction, you can now see the job address field box. From there, input the information.

I'm sorry but this "fix" with the custom field is unacceptable. This field is a single line and does not fit what needs to be in this field such as name and full address. It's frustrating that so many of us have been requesting this feature and a $250B company full of software engineers can't come up with a way to allow us rename the "Ship To" field. This was not an issue with Desktop software where we can customize the virtually anything on that invoice.

It's almost like you guys have a preference for Shipping businesses and choose to insult Service businesses. As a service business we need a field exactly like the shipping field with a large enough fieled to put a location name and address and also be linked to the "tax by location" feature as well as shop up properly on an invoice. With so many complex features offered in QBO this should be an easy fix! I don't get it.

I understand the importance of having the option to change the shipping address field to your preferred name. Currently, this isn't possible in QuickBooks Online. 

Our engineers never stop enhancing the product for the benefit of all. This will be an exciting feature once it's added. I recommend submitting your product suggestion so they can review your request. We do have a corresponding team that gathers all requests. They can include it in the future update once it's approved.

Here's how:

1. Click the Gear icon.
2. Select Feedback.
3. Enter your product suggestion.
4. Once done, hit Next to submit.

In the meantime, you can also look for a third-party application that has this capability. Just click the Apps menu to find one.

I usually add the job as a subcustomer (bill the parent) and put the job's shipping address, and then invoice the job

I was hoping to change the label shipping address to job location address for construction. I still want the job/shipping location to be the location for sales tax.

Customizing form templates helps you improve your business communication. You can manually add a field and choose which one to display on your forms or rename labels for your product details. However, the ability to edit the label for the shipping address is unavailable.

Hence, I recommend sending your feedback directly to our product engineers. They might consider your insights while working on enhancing our product.

1. Head to the Gear icon.
2. Select Feedback.
3. Share your comments or product improvement ideas.
4. Click Next to submit.

It is beyond comprehension that we are unable to change this name.  It makes zero sense, every company or person working in the trades field needs a "Job Address" without exception.  Sales tax means zero to us in Australia, it is all the same as it is in many countries where you are selling your product.

We also need to change   "Ship Date"  "Ship Via" and "Tracking No"  They are useless to every one of us also.

Ship Date need to become "Job Date"  "Ship Via"  needs to become "Contact Name"  and Tracking No Needs to become "Contact Phone Number"

You are pushing your online so hard, but apparently not interested in what is actually needed.

If you cannot do this very simple change, you need to have far more than a 1 Line custom area, at least give us one that is big enough to take an actual address.
