Hi –
Can you add “On Hand” quantity and “Available” quantity to the Sales Order reports?
(Screenshot attached.)
Having this information in the report helps us quickly determine which items are ready for customers. Otherwise, we have to spend time going to other screens and/or running other reports to retrieve the information. It’s much more efficient to have “On Hand” qty. and “Available” qty. in the sales reports.
Example: Open Sale Order By Item Report

Hello there, Dav.
Adding additional columns for a much detailed report is a great idea.

Hi @Toonces -
I think you also might like this request about adding "On Hand" qty. and "Available" qty. to the Sales Order report.
This is what I have needed in QB desktop for 20 years. It would catch and help fix so many problems, like when orders are entered automatically by our online cart via web connector and unknowingly go negative because it is a wrong part number.
I have too many items to go into physical inventory worksheet or the item list and enter each item to check quantity on hand for a specific period.
is there any other work around to get item sold and quantity on hand on one report?
Hi there, GRTac.
I'm here to share ways how to review the items sold and the quantity on one page.
You can run the Sales by Customer Detail report. Then customize it to show the quantity and number of items sold.
Here's how:
6. Click OK.
Also, if you want to export the said report, you can check this article: Export reports as Excel workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop.
That should do it, GRTac. Keep me posted in case you need help in exporting reports. I'll be around to guide you.
Thank you, but this shows me the "quantity sold" during the period of the report. I want what is left ON HAND after the sale for a specific item.
I can help you get this kind of report in QuickBooks, @GRTac.
Thanks for clarifying your goal. I'll share recommended reports for you to review the inventory left on hand after the sale for a specific item.
You can pull up your Physical Inventory Worksheet or Inventory Stock Status by Item report to see your items with the remaining quantity on hand.
Proceed as follows:
For more details about customizing, see this link: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know in the comment below. I'll be here to lend a hand, GRTac.
Thank you. I have ran those reports, but that does not show me Quantity on Hand and items sold on the same report. I am trying to combine "sales by item detail" and Quantity left on Hand after the sale.
For example: If I have 5 widgets on Monday, and I sell 3 on Tuesday, I want to run a report for the week that shows me that I sold 3 and have 2 left (on same report).
I
I appreciate you for getting back, @GRTac. I'm stepping into the thread to share with you some additional information about running reports displaying your items' quantity on hand and sold.
At this time, you need to pull up two reports to get this information. First is the Sales by Item Detail Report that shows the transactions created under your items with their quantities. The second report is the suggested reports (Physical Inventory Worksheet or Inventory Stock Status by Item) by MichelleBh to get the items' remaining quantities.
Once the report is open, you can export both reports to Excel, then combine the quantity and remaining quantity information from there.
To export the report:

Exactly what we need to see also.
Thank you for jumping in on the thread, droybal.
I also like the idea of having On-Hand Qty and Available Qty. This will help users quickly check this information without opening another report. Please don't forget to submit your suggestion from your company file by clicking Help and choosing Send Feedback Online.
In the meantime, you can consider my colleagues' workarounds or share how you do it for the benefit of other users. I can see that they have included references as well.
Feel free to reply below if you have any other questions about reports. Have a good one!
Hi QuickBooks Team and @JessT -
It seems like there's a lot of user interest and support for this request. Can you give us a status update on implementing this request? Can this be implemented soon for an upcoming software update?
I appreciate you for getting back, @Dav.
I see how this feature would be helpful for you and your business. Currently, this feature is still unavailable in QuickBooks.
We currently don't have a given timeframe to implement the On-Hand Qty and Available Qty columns in the Sales Order reports. Our product developers are doing their best to review all customer's suggestions and incorporate them into the program.
