Contractors not always showing up in Time Entries, after filling in time for the last pay period.

After adding time entries for contractors the last pay period, exiting time entries to a different screen, e.g., dashboards or other, then re-entering the time entries screen and selecting a date range for the last pay period, with display by set to contractors or all team members - the contractors do not appear.
However, if I put in the date range using Custom then the contractors show up.
Shouldn't they always show up.
If I put in a date range of this month or last month, contractors do appear.

Contractors not always showing up in Time Entries, after filling in time for the last pay period.

I appreciate your diligence in identifying this discrepancy with contractor visibility in your time entries screen, @Bob_E. Let's collaborate to resolve this and ensure your contractors are consistently displayed.

The inconsistency you're experiencing is primarily because of the time approval process in QuickBooks Online. Contractors should appear in all relevant date ranges, but unapproved time entries may affect their visibility. Let's address this by verifying and approving the time entries:

For QuickBooks Online (QBO), here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Time section and select Time entries.
  2. Ensure that it is set to Display by Date before clicking on Approvals. Alternatively, set Display to All workers to approve time.
  3. Choose the date range, and from the Status dropdown, select Unapproved.
  4. To review timesheets, click on the name of the team member whose timesheets you want to review.
  5. Verify that all the information is correct, then click Approve time followed by Approve and lock time.

For QuickBooks Time, follow these detailed steps:

  1. Go to Approvals.
  2. Choose the report dates and team members.
  3. Select Run Report.
  4. Select either Select all unapproved or select individual team members.
  5. Select Approve Selected.

Additionally, mark as check the Import contractors as team members option in the Preferences section. After that, navigate to the QuickBooks Payroll icon and click on Import to synchronize time entries accurately.

I followed your recommendations. All time entries are (and were) approved but still do not display for any time period for any Display by including contractors and all team members.

Also, I went to QB Time and made sure all of the settings specified were set correctly. The time entries do show up under this month, last month, and custom time period. It seems to me that if they showed up under these time periods, they should show up under this "This Pay Period" and "Last Pay Period".

Additionally, I cleared my cache and also tried another browser. Same issue. I suppose that I can live with it as it is, but it's not optimal.

Thanks for giving that suggestion a try and letting us know the results, Bob_E.

To rule out any browser related issues, I recommend clearing the cache. The cache is in place to collect frequently used data to make loading web pages quicker and easier. If it becomes too full it can cause certain viewing and performance errors within QuickBooks Online. Clearing the cache will remove anything that's preventing the contractor data and time entries to load properly. Here's how to get this done if you're using Chrome for example:

1. At the top right, click More (three vertical dots).
2. Click More tools and then Clear browsing data.
3. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
4. Check the boxes next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files."
5. Click Clear data.
