Customer Quantity Purchased

Good afternoon,

I am trying to find a report (or customize a report), to show the total quantities of items purchased by Customer.

For instance, we have 10 items (item list ) that we sell to customers. I'd like to see a report that shows the Customer

and the item total quantity purchased of each item.

Customer Item U/M Quantity

#1 Pencils Ea 700

#2 Tablets Ea 600

#3 etc. etc etc

Any ideas?

I'd be glad to help create a custom report to show the total quantities and the item purchased by the customer.

Here' how:

In your QuickBooks, go to the Reports menu.
Choose Custom Reports and then select Summary.
In the Display tab, go to the Columns section.
In the Display columns by drop-down, select Item detail.
Choose Customer in the Display rows by drop-down.
Under Display columns for, select the Quantity radio button.
Once done, click OK.

Also, you can add some filters on the report to show the accounts and items you want to see in it. You can do this by selecting the Customize Report button.

I've added this article that can guide you in exporting reports into Excel if you want to remove some columns on it.

I am trying to do the same, but I am on quickbooks online and do not have a button for custom reports. Where do I find that?

It's good to see you here in the Community, @jbolton. I'll help you access the Custom Summary Report.

I know how important it is for your company to access standard reports. It allows you to view the reports available in your account.

I’ve replicated your concern on my test file and found out that it works fine. The options are also visible and useful when personalizing reports. The Custom Report feature is not available on QuickBooks Online Simple Start. If you have QuickBooks Online Essentials, Plus, or Advanced, you can also run "Detail" versions of standard reports.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) uses browser cache and cookies to perform at its best. However, there are times when the browser is full of frequently accessed pages. This will cause some unusual responses like the missing customize button.

To single out the cause of this unexpected behavior, you may need to inform the user to open their account using a private browser and access the reports from there. This will help us determine if the issue is browser-related.

Here are the different keyboard shortcuts to open a private browser:

Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once done, try to customize the report again. If it works, you can go back to your regular browser and clear your cache and cookies. If the issue persists, You can also use a different supported one.
