Has this "fault" been corrected yet? We would QuickBooks not give users the option to customize a PO.
This seem very DUMB.
Thanks for requesting some updates about the option to customize purchase orders, Kevin.
Having the feature to allow editing the format of your PO's is a great idea to have in QuickBooks Online. However, this option is not yet available for now.
Our developers are always working on development roadmaps that will be helpful for the majority of our clients. For now, we're unable to share any updates about their work as they handle product updates internally.

For now, the workaround we can offer is finding reminder apps inside QuickBooks. To do that, go to the Apps menu and type "reminders".
Please let me know if you have other questions about the available features QuickBooks. I'm always here to help. Have a great rest of the day.
I just called support to see if I could remove categories from printing in front of my item description and it is not possible. The master template does show a box for categories but it does not help in anyway.
Is there an update anytime soon to allow customised Purchase Orders? According to another post, this has been the most user requested feature for 3 years, but no action from QB.
I appreciate your concern for updates on the possibility of customizing purchase orders, @tracynz.
It's a good idea for QuickBooks Online to offer a function that enables modifying the format of your POs. However, as of the right moment, this option is not accessible.
The majority of our clients will benefit from the development roadmaps that our developers are always working on. Since they handle product changes internally, we are unable to disclose any updates at this time regarding their efforts.
We wanted to comprehend your company's demands, and I want you to know that. The program is changed depending on a number of variables. Your requests or suggestions for QuickBooks Online are welcome in this regard.

Should you have more questions about purchase orders, please don’t hesitate to post them here. Stay safe!
Here is one reason why it is a good idea to allow customization of the PO. For companies that are ISO....we need to add a header or footer to the form where specific, required information will be placed. This information is the same for all POs created and should be able to automatically be on each one.
This does not work. The pdfs that I send to my vendors have no SKU and no item name, so how are they supposed to know what I'm ordering?
>Also, we're unable to customize the form and change the column's labels.
Why? You've been selling this product for half a decade and still haven't given the ability to include basic information on one of the single most important documents that a business has to generate.
this thread is 3+ years old and QBO still does not allow for much customization of the PO format that gets sent to customers. This is ridiculous since QB desktop gave all of this flexibility...and then some. I don't want the "Product/Service" to show on the PO since it is unique to my bookkeeping. I just want the Description to show. When will there be a toggle on/off for these descriptor similar to the fields for the customized invoices?
Not a big fan of QBO so far...
We appreciate you for requesting some updates about the option to customize purchase orders, Charlie.
Having the feature to allow editing the format of your POs is a great idea to have in QuickBooks Online (QBO). However, as of the right moment, this option is unavailable. We can only customize transaction forms such as invoices, sales receipts, and estimates in QBO. Our developers are always working on development roadmaps that will be helpful for the majority of our clients.
We see consumer feedback as an opportunity to improve the numerous features of our products. With that said, I'd recommend giving our engineers direct feedback to look into this suggestion and incorporate it into future updates. Let me guide you on how:
I've attached screenshots below for your reference:
Furthermore, you can visit this page to stay up to date on the latest software improvements and enhancements with QBO: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online. You'll want to check for a third-party application that can help you with hiding the Product/Service in the PO since it is unique to your bookkeeping. Check out this link for a list of QuickBooks-compatible apps: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/. We can also do it in QBO by following the steps below:
Any questions about integrating the app into your Online account should be directed to the app's third-party provider. Keep posted with new updates in QuickBooks Online to check if the option to customize POs is out:
You're more than welcome to drop by if you have questions about managing your PO entries. Do you need to run some reports for the next current period? Or would you like to take care of taxes in QuickBooks? Let me know and I'll lend a hand again.
Why are you continuing to provide the same response of "submit feedback" when it has been YEARS since this ACUTE DEFICIENCY has been raised? We have provided feedback. Maybe start telling the truth, which is that Intuit Does Not Want To Change This. You can also tell the truth by telling these frustrated people that QuickBooks Desktop DOES have this functionality and then some, but instead you are continuing to advertise and market a product with "what's new / etc" to an audience that is still waiting for BASIC FUNCTIONALITY. Stop. This. Farce.
