Using QuickBooks Online (QBO) to track only invoices and your bank account is efficient as you have less to do.

Nonetheless, if you wish for QBO to download your transactions automatically, I recommend connecting your bank to QBO. This way, QuickBooks automatically categorize those transactions for you for fast-tracking.
