I figured there was no going back Thanks for confirming that. Sad really. now my logo is 250% larger. black background using more ink. Going to have to change that. only 3 custom fields available. Hiding the customer email is odd. No spot for tracking information or shipping company.
Yes, the new invoices are awful. I've seen all of your points of feedback before here, and much more.
I want my old f*cking invoices back now and I am tired of f*cking combing the internet looking for a way to do my f*cking job which worked fine yesterday until you decided to f*ck with my sh*t today without my permission. F*ck you and your engineers, f*ck your bullsh*t lies about ease and new. I want reliable, consistent f*cking invoices the way they were so they f*cking work and I do not have to f*cking add hours to my day trying to do what was easy yesterday but a f*cking bullsh*t mystery of stupid useless unwanted functions and changes today. F*CK YOU> I want my invoices back the way they were an I do not want them changed every unless I f*cking ask. You just added multiple mouse moves and button presses to my old routine and the sh*t is stupid, unwanted, unhelpful, wasting my f*cking time and I f*cking resent you *ssholes. MAKE IT GO BACK. GIVE MY F*CKING INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE IT WORK LIKE IT DID ON F*CKING TUESDAY AND INCLUDE INSTRUCTIONS TO PREVENT YOU FROM F*CKING ANY MORE OF MY DAYS OVER WITH THIS COSMETIC STUPID BULL SH*T!
HOW HOW HOW!?
How do I use the old layout and delete this useless stupid new crap you forced onto me? HOW?
@naturecraftinc Well put!
Yup . It's absolutely atrocious !!!
I'm starting to think about ditching Quick book . The invoice lay outs were always one of the things I've hated .
And in 2023 we're still having to deal with thinks like that . I guess they are too busy pushing on online payments thru them than to actually think what users think . Don't even get me started on all the pop ups and annoying " Recommended banners that make everything looks like we're not paid users ,but using that for free .
Yes, I absolutely hate the new look! We have been asking for years for a new way to charge customers for transaction fees, and instead, they roll out this unnecessary change. Quickbooks never listens to their customers, they simply give the same tired and scripted answers in the forums. I had to do my own research to find another program to pass the fees on to the customer for the invoices.
I can learn to live with it except that it's missing an important feature: There's no "Payments" link inside the invoice to see what payments have bee applied to the invoice. I have a customer who invoices her clients MULTIPLE times per month and names the invoices crazy/very similar things. I can't hunt around to see what payments were applied! RESTORE THIS FEATURE PLEASE!!
Hello there, @Laura.
I understand that having a Payment link feature within your invoices can be very convenient as it streamlines your business workflow. However, if you're using the old layout, this feature isn't available on the invoice page. In such a case, I suggest that you send a product request to our product development team so that they can consider adding this functionality to future software updates.
Here's how you can send a feedback:

what's the name of that program?
I don't expect sending feedback will be useful at all, I expect it goes directly into the bit bucket, because I SURE do not see any feedback that was positive for the new invoice and they still did it.
Hi there, @KC2022.
Kindly give us additional information about your concern? This enables us to investigate it further and provide a solution in QuickBooks Online. Could you please provide me with additional details about what program are you referring to specifically? Your cooperation is greatly appreciated as it will provide us with a solution to assist you with your questions and provide some clarification.
If you provide a screenshot, please be mindful and careful to not include sensitive information. This precaution is taken to prevent any potentially scheming activities. I'll be waiting for your response, please do keep in touch. Take care.
My post was quoting Marla123, because I wanted to know what program she found.
Also my frustrations with how you guys are implementing these changes are already all voiced in this thread by myself and everyone else in here. I'm not going to repeat myself just for you guys to tell me to submit a feedback because you guys clearly don't read it or think it's important enough to listen to what everyone really wants.
Here's the most confusing part about all of this. The majority of people will never say anything, even if they are happy/unhappy. So many of us voiced that this was removing key features or disrupting our workflow. So WHY did they do this? If it was to update something they needed to update on the backend I could understand that. If they just wanted to change the look, I could understand that. But this seems to be completely arbitrary and did so many things people hate. WHY? What was the point of this? We're all clearly upset but they are a company and even though they don't care about us personally they do want us to keep using the software. Breaking all of these things and messing with our workflows can't be good for business. WHY Quickbooks? Could you just help us understand what the heck you guys are thinking? It might go a long way if we knew this wasn't for no reason at all.
So frustrating.
@tansparRE: So many of us voiced that this was removing key features or disrupting our workflow. So WHY did they do this?
It's a mystery. I can't figure it out. Intuit hardly ever does something like this, "improving" a core feature like invoicing by removing a slew of functionality that customers depend on - and then saying it's better than before.
Objectively the new invoices are horrible. They're missing a slew of features and when they're printed they look like cartoon invoices. They're so terrible it boggles the mind.
I feel sad for you. It must be super frustrating to work for a company that doesn't give you the tools to do your job. The responses from employees in the forums are mostly pointless. What is needed is someone who the feedback goes to who actually reads the feedback. This whole thing is an unforced error. Sorry that the only option they give you is to ask that someone sends feedback when they just gave you feedback lol.
"I understand that having a Payment link feature within your invoices can be very convenient as it streamlines your business workflow"
If you know this helps workflow why not enlighten the product development team yourself?
I'm using ChloePay. It's integrated with QuickBooks online, but I worked with the program developer for months to develop a way to pass the fees on to the customer. It's not a perfect solution, but it's better than paying all the QuickBooks fees.
I am not a new QuickBooks Online user, and I am unable to switch back to the old layout. I followed all the steps you outlined to do so, and I still am not given the option to switch back.
I don't care about "my ranking with QBO" for my feedback and questions. I want resolutions! We have always been able to add payment options in our invoices such as credit cards and ACH transactions. The only difference is you're including PayPal and Venmo, but those features were available with app integrations. So, you truly haven't improved the payment process at all. I feel like a broken record replying to your scripted answers. Your customers want a payment feature to pass the fees on to their customers! You don't care, though, as long as you get paid. If we ran our business the way you do, we'd be out of business because you don't listen to your customers.
I should work as a QBO Moderator too, since I know how to copy and paste the same scripted answers.
Yea but are you as good as they are at picking answers that don't actually answers the questions? Some of them are really good at that.
I like to regularly point out that:
Intuit's customer support is exactly the way they like it. They're a big company. If they wanted their support to be better, it would be better. They used to want it to be better, and it was better.
I can't agree with you more! They're only interested in their bottom line! We all know there's a simple solution to resolve the issue of passing the transaction fees on to our customers with invoicing, but it doesn't benefit them. So, they don't even attempt to improve the payment platform for their customers. The developers could easily provide this feature.
A lot of frustration being expressed in these comments. Rightlyfully so!
QBs REMOVED the following features from the Quote & Invoice templets:
After removing these features (that we used on nearly every correspondence with our customers) they added more salt to the wound with a templet layout that:
All of this (and other things) were supposedly implemented as an improvement. A deplorable improvement to say the least.
I challenge the design team to explain to us (their customer) the rationale behind these changes. If there are good and valid reasons, you should be proud to stand by them and share them with us. If not, I suspect that all we will hear is radio silence.
@Dumbfounded Don't forget one more vital feature that was removed: The basic feature of the Invoice Activity History right there on the invoice. They moved that feature to a completely different tab, so now it's a dozen more clicks to get to the Sales tab, search for the invoice, open up a new tab, open the Activity in that tab, and then it still doesn't tell you who viewed the invoice. What sense does it make to remove an invoice's activity from the invoice?? Completely ruined our workflow.
